I have a clinical site, I have a midwife to work with. I am having problems finding an online pharmacology course to increase my GPA to get accepted into Georgetown University's Nurse Midwifery program.

Traveling is an option but I can't take off a lot of time from work at this point knowing when I get into a midwifery program that I'm going to have to take time off for clinicals

How long ago did she graduate? Do you know how many times she actually had to go to campus? I was looking at Frontier Nursing University but bc of having to go to campus for several days in a row and with my job I cannot do that at this time.

So I am posting this both here and on the student nursing to hopefully get some help. Co-workers and doctors I work with are unable to help either, so I am calling out for some major help!! So I have posted recently about needing to find an online Pharmacology course to help with getting accepted into Georgetown University's Nurse Midwifery program but I have been looking for 2 weeks and I haven't had any success. I am at the point of giving up my dream. I cannot quit my job to go to school right now, just bought a house and at the point I can't afford it. I love my job too much anyway-working at an OB/GYN office. I want to be a Nurse Midwife so bad but it seems like the odds are against me. I have only found 4 online programs; Georgetown University, Frontier Nursing University, Philadelphia University, and University of Cincinatti, all of which have some reason why they don't suit. Georgetown is the most within my reach distance wise which makes it so much more convient but of course I was not accepted because my science GPA was a bit lower than they like. So, any advise anyone could give? I need a 300 level online pharmacology course or any input on any of the online Midwifery Nursing programs. I am getting a little depressed...

Only thing is they prefer a 300 level pharmacology class which community colleges dont offer. I have found several online pharmacology classes but they just don't meet the exact criteria they are looking for.

They want it at a University level so they know I can do the advanced patho.

Hey Everyone! I am an RN with my Bachelor's Degree. I recently applied to Georgetown University's Nurse Midwifery online program and was not accepted due to my science GPA not being as high as other candidates. They recommended me take a Pathophysiology class which I have already taken and received an A and a Pharmacology class which I took at Salisbury University and received a C. They recommended I retake the Pharmacology class to show them that I could succeed in their advanced pharmacology class. I work full time at an OB/GYN office mon-fri 8:30-5 which makes it limited on retaking the one and only pharmacology course offered at SU. University of Phoenix apparently does not fulfill the required knowledge. Does anyone have any recommendations?

i have had the same problem. i started out in LTC as an LPN while continuing on my education for my RN. I have been working at the same LTC facility for almost 3 years and recently graduated with my BSN. I am looking for something new. The LTC to me was a way to get my foot in the door, get some experience as a nurse, and also be able to continue with school. I applied to 2 jobs, both which are what I REALLY wanted to do with my career. The Cardiac Cath Lab at my local hospital would not hire me because I was not "experienced enough" even though their application said experience "preferred." The other job I applied for was a doctors office in GYN, which was my top choice. I have been interviewed and by word of mouth, I have the job. I just haven't received a call from them yet. hopefully the right job will pop up sometime for you. keep looking, and don't give up. also don't settle for something you DON'T want just so you can get out of LTC. you are still getting experience with your assessment skills and keeping your eye open for small issues that could possibly become larger issues. i told my mentor one time I felt like I was babysitting when I was working on LTC. She said "you might feel like that, but your assessment skills are still being used because you are able to see suttle changes that other people might not see."
