  1. I know this is an old post, but I am just now finding it. I am an extreme introvert. I have been told my entire life that I'm too quiet. I have been a nurse for many, many years. I have earned respect from my co-workers, but yet I am still told that I'm too quiet by others in the field despite my accomplishments. I would highly recommend the book "Quiet: The power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking" by Susan Cain.
  2. It sounds to me as though she is a bully. You are describing what I have seen many times in my career. This behavior shouldn't be tolerated from a staff nurse let alone a charge nurse. My recommendation would be to either find others who are treated the same way and go to mgmnt together or, if you aren't comfortable going to mgmnt alone, I have found that anonymous letters work well. Good luck!
  3. At my facility it is the clocking in early that will get you into trouble, because employees have more control over their clock in time. As long as you are working and not standing at the time clock chatting when it's time to clock out (this happens often) you are fine.
  4. A new grad at orlandohealth is about $21-$22, but keep in mind that within a short period of time you could move up the pay scale quickly (with clinical ladder, etc.).
