  1. So.Cal..completely new to psych... Currently working as a relief nurse with a base rate of $43.34/hour plus noc shift differential.... I am not getting benefits nor VL/SL ... would love to become FT although base rate would be around $37-39/hour plus shift differential of course! I have a BSN but because I am a relief RN I do not get anything extra... but FT nurses do.
  2. Hi. :) good luck with your test! I did the trick an hour after my test ... I live in Cali.
  3. Hi.. I sent you a PM...hoping you'll get your start date soon!
  4. if you passed nursing school you will have no prob passing their test/s :) good luck!
  5. hi r.yusi.. live scan in my case took 1 week(7 long days) .. but i know in some other cases i have read on AN that it can take up to 4-6 weeks. Don't lose hope! if you have not done your physical yet then i suggest you go and get a TB skin test placed as it is a two step process- They require you to have two skin test within the last 12 months(of course if you've had a + hx then copy of chest x-ray). That way when you go in for your physical you can bring a copy of the results.. [this was my experience, I understand that others may have had a different experience]. I went in for my physical on a Tuesday afternoon and I was contacted by HR that my first day of orientation is on Monday. I went to HR to sign paperwork(which took 2.5 hours..whheeehh). After your live scan and physical things will be quick... so patience is a virtue and it is definitely worth the wait! GOOD LUCK!
  6. Hi sadie16... classroom setting at a local hotel.. I had classmates that came from outta state too. :) some had relatives out here and dome actually stayed at the instructors house... they didn't have transportation so they rode with the instructors to and from the class location :) for some students since they lived a few hours from the hotel they stayed over night...you get a good price for the night since you're attending the class. 7. cupcake are you in the south bay area?
  8. cupcake8- the instructors are (****names redacted per site ToS****)I personally did the 12 days(6 weekends) and i also did the 3 day in house review.. it was very interesting and I learned a lot of stuff! The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. All of their review material is new and not outdated- unlike the other review centers- and their materials are not a xerox copy "old notes". I highly recommend it and you will not regret the "weekends" that you sacrificed. I loved the fact that the 3 day review was actually at their house! and they fed you... for the three days you are literally up at 8 am and your not done until midnight! I recommend attending both 12 day and 3 day reviews. Be sure though that once you are done with the 3 day class you test right away that way things are still fresh. Good luck and keep me posted!! gbu...
