Thank you, you all, for your input. I went ahead and administered the meds anyway, upsetting the mother who happened to be a nurse, too.

It's my understanding that when you get your RN license, your LPN/LVN license becomes inactive/invalid. At least, that's how it is in Ohio.

I had a pediatric pt in the ED with a rash. After bothering the little guy with several procedures that he tolerated with great difficulty, he fell asleep. The physician ordered liquid Benadryl and liquid prednisone. Of course, these meds came in pre-filled syringes. Since the pt had been through a lot and was finally asleep, the parent asked if she can take the meds home and administer them in the comfort of their own home. As a parent, I wanted to allow it. As a nurse, I didn't want to allow it. What should have been done?

The organization I work for has set a goal to have at least 80% of all RN's to have a BSN by 2016. I haven't heard of any old ADN's fired as of yet; however, the organization has required all newly-hired RN's to begin a BSN program within 6 months and finish within 4 years. The best part is that once you've worked for 90 days, the organization pays 100% tuition for the entire program. I start mine later this month.

I just took mine today, too. It stopped at 75 questions, and as soon as I walked out of the building, I logged in Pearson Vue and it said the the results were "delivered." I then attempted to re-register for another exam and got the good pop-up. I'm still a little freaked out though. I don't know how much I can rely on the PVT. I'll keep you updated.

A Junior English Comp class in any level 300 English course that has a letter "J" following the course number. For instance, I completed mine last quarter and was titled, "ENG 308J - Writing and Rhetoric II."

I think it just depends on the facility. The one I just got hired at is a teaching hospital. I just graduated on June 8th with an ADN and was hired as an ER Nurse; however, I precepted there for a couple of months prior. Find a teaching hospital in your area. Good luck!
