if you are outside hospital setting and patient has a seizure episode due to being hypoglycemia. if seizure just finish about three minutes ago is it ok to give them oral gel by mouth if they are conscious?

if you can avoid med surg do it

a bit confused say i have percocet q4 i give it it last four hours. but before percocet is up patient ask for iv dilaudid. i always thought you waited until one pain med was finish before you gave another. but patient and other nurses are telling to give the dilaudid even thou the percocet is still q4. how does pain meds schedule work? do i wait for it to finish then give dilaudid

i had a clean stick also but with insulin syringe it scared the crap out of me

i am a new nurse i worked night shift. so my dilema is it approriate to call the doctor for certain manners or not. take for instead a pt ask me to call his doc for meds to make him make stools. do we call doc late at night for such matters or wait till morning. when do you guys feel it approriate or not to call doc i need situations? also it is my understanding we only called the doc for critical lab values is this true?

when i get ask to do cardiac enzymes x3 and stool for occult blood it get confused. is it meaning to get three samples right then or over time such as one sample for three days. help me understand the collection . is it all three samples get colllected at once

i never thought that as a mistake . if i give meds i sign off i did my part. i never the nurse had to watch patient take med. news to me

what do your hospital call each "acronyms" and what elements each include? is probasic not the same as bmp

i am confuse. i have breath sound cd and books that classified rhonchi as a wheeze. but my floor educator and other nurses say otherwise. she say rhonchi is junk in the airway and differs from wheezing. the cd says high pitch wheeze is sibilant rhonci and low pitch wheeze is sonorous rhonchi.my question is why folks keep saying they are different when in fact they are not? opinions?
