  1. Wow! One month of orientation? Really?! I got just 5 days of orientation, and they put me up alone on the med cart. Plus I had a fall while on my med pass..it was the WORST day of my life. Looking at quitting and looking for jobs in the hospitals. I'm a new nurse too, I graduated in May and this is my very first nursing job. This week is my 2nd week there and I can say I'm not having the best experience.
  2. Hello! Thanks for your replies. Yeah, I'm currently living in Seminole County area. Any help will be deeply appreciated!!
  3. Hello everyone!! I'm Jessica, and I just took the NCLEX last 2 weeks and I passed! Now, its time for the real time: looking for a job. I have been applying to several jobs in Florida Hospital, Orlando Health locations...and to no avail. I'm already regretting my decision of leaving Indiana. No one wants to hire an inexperienced RN, but I wonder how I can get experience when no one wants to hire me. What do you guys think? Any advice? Am I doing something wrong?
  4. hey guys!!! It's official! PVT really works! I saw my name on FL board of Nursing this morning! WooHoo! Well, I loved ATI although it was quite boring. I took advantage of it since it was paid by my school, and their assessments helped my gauge my improvements. so yeah, I got the green light on Sunday..and I tested on Monday!
  5. Hey! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!! I tested on the 16th too!!!!!!!! and your storyline is just like mine..both study methods and prayers. I just found out today too. It's official! My name is on the FL board of nursing :)
  6. Good LUCK!!!!!!!!! Commit yourself to the good Lord! You are already an RN :)
  7. Thanks! yeah, you are right..it's puss in boots indeed! :)
  8. LOL! Well, all in all..I would say twice..
  9. I really didn't study per se. I just looked over AN study guide, and some rationales of Kaplan CD test that I took weeks ago. Went to bed at 10pm..but couldn't sleep much. Was awake like every 2 hours..worst sleep of my life. But woke up..prayed with my Mum, got ready..left my house. I even started early becos I got there like an hour earlier. Got the No. 1 card on the line..
  10. LOL! That's funny, but that's Garfield being cute..and dilating his eyeballs..so pple go like this 'awww..he is adorable'..guess that didn't happen here..hahahaha But thanks alot for the congratulatory wishes. :)
  11. Thanks a bunch, guys!!!! As for you guys that are looking forward to testing in the coming week...all i can say is that just do your best n pray! After all, they say God helps those who help themselves..right? So don't be freaked out...I know I was, but at a time I had to calm down..you can't write this exam with frayed nerves..ooh no! not possible at all. so..just relax n trust in God :)
  12. CONGRATS, RN!!!!! I know that feeling of thinking you don't know any of the NCLEX questions..that's what I felt today as well. But I was like hey! still got time, keep clucking away, girl! 5 hrs left...bahahaha! I'm crazy like that..I was talking to my self all thru that test! But hey! it went down in a good way at last! Did u do the PVT?
  13. What's prayer? Or do you mean what is the prayer? If later is the case, it's called a PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO.. Just google it, not hard to find. I got it from someone on this site as well, so let the miracle keep spreading n spreading :)
  14. yeah, I did. So I thank God for that :)
  15. hey! my exam was weird, but i thank God for everything. i feel like answering questions and failing them made me remember more and it stuck! I had just 1 med calc! lol! I was like wth? bcos I like calculations! few drugs, lots of prority and stuff. teaching..the exam was all over the place.. all i can say is prepare the best you can. as of last night, i was feeling soo lost but i told myself, just go in there and do your best and let go and let God! I went to my testing area 1 hour earlier, and i just sat in my car...and breathe. Went it earlier than my said time and signed in and started. didn't take any break...till question 74. Then i was like Lord, pls let the blue screen show already..after that BAM! Blue screen! I was relieved! At last!!!!! Don't worry, guys! Just study and pray this PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO...it WORKS!!!!!
  16. i know what you mean, but I have watched a lot of thread about pvt and all of them have always passed at the end of it all. so i believe in the pvt whole n whole. plus i believe that God already did this for me. plus all my family members are already rejoicing with me...it berra work! LOL!!!!
  17. Took NCLEX this morning! 75 Qs later, Good PVT!!!!! Praise God! Used: Saunders 5th ed. NCBSN review course (for questions) ATI (paid by school) La Charity Lippincott Alternate format book for questions Good luck, guys!!!
  18. THANK U!!!!!!!! It was a hard journey, but HE saw me thru it all! Blessed be His Holy Name :)
  19. Hello all!! It's me once again!!! I just got done with the NCLEX!!!! I can't really tell you exactly what I had but I can say this..LOTS OF PRIORITY!! 1 med calc, 1 exhibit, 1 drop down.. I just got back, and did the PVT..and it's a good one! My eyes are bulging from all the tears of joy to the Almighty! How I studied: Saunders 5th ed NCBSN review course ATI (paid by school) La Charity (didn't finish it tho, but it's a GREAT book..I highly recommend!) Lippincott Alternate format (funny enuf, I got like 10 SATAs..lucky me!) MOST importantly: I did 2 Novenas to St Jude and St Joseph of Cupertino (it really works!! I believe STRONGLY!) How did all 16th July takers do? Pls share your good news and be blessed! Muuahhhh! -Jessica, RN!!!!
  20. Thanks for the prayer!!!!! Really calming! I just took a test drive to my testing center...approx. 15 mins away from my house. I plan to go there an hour early and just say my rosary in the parking lot...to calm my nerves and just bask in the Lord's presence before entering the building. Then after, I'm gonna stay put in the parking lot and do the PVT! (that part I'm so scared about!) But having faith that it will be a good one!!!! Good luck to all!
  21. I feel you completely!!!! I can't bear the sight of a book anymore..I'm here watching TV! I don't know if it's a good sign or not...ohh myy! I did some La Charity and I got a 65%..ha! This is why I don't wanna do anything..it making me all nervous and depressed that I know nothing!! I read half of AN study already, will complete it before bed tomorrow and again before I leave my house in the morning! I still have one question bank left from the ncbsn..but I don't feel like seeing the big red X marks (meaning I got questions wrong!) I will be the happiest woman on earth when I pass on Monday!! GOD HELP US ALL!
  22. I test on MONDAY as well!!!!! Around 8am in FL! How about u? I'm here taking diagnostic tests and doing practice questions..plan to read AN study guide [not endorsed by AN, of course ] How are u preparing for the last moments before we become RNs????
  23. Did NCBSN diagnostic test for the 2nd time (150 questions..and 3.5 hours down the drain). Just wanted to gauge how far I have come with studying and stuff. The first time in May, I got a 61% and today I scored a 72%. This is not the passing grade for NCBSN mind you (it's 75%) but it gave me some confidence that I kinda studied good. A 11% point difference! (Not a big deal..but it's for me). I test on Monday..will keep doing questions till Sunday evening. I'm thinking about reading up on cardiac strips..but again..I'm like how about after reading it and it doesn't show up on the NCLEX? Ha! the beauty of it..NOT!
