It should give an introduction of the capstone research you plan on executing in your DNP program.

How did the first semester go?? I'm surprised I made it out! It was brutal but I learned the areas that I am weak in.

I have seriously considered withdrawing from my DNP program. I'm tired of fighting at work and then have to come home and fight with professors sitting on their high horse is not gonna fly with me. I am often asking myself what are the benefits, what is the worth of this degree. The other NPs that are DNPs are still having to fight for respect and still end up seeing her load and the doctors load too! You hear the side bar conversations amongst your so called "colleagues" about the degree and wonder where is the respect. So what's the purpose and what's the point of obtaining this degree.

So INR and Albumin that's all over the place, think liver damage. Mg, Phos, and Ca go with kidney as well as BUN and Creatinine. Sodium-Postassium think cardiac and so on. I always go to my Patho book to brush up on those things. Hope that helps!

The inverse of the Albumin and INR could hone in on liver problems ie hepatitis or carcinoma. You could draw a AFP tumor marker as well to help with the differential diagnosis. CEA can go with those labs mentioned too.

Yep, draw the rest of the iron study panel and always look to the GI tract first in elderly people. I saw a lot of that in Geriatrics. Draw a Chem panel too to look at your kidneys as well.

There it is! I was waiting for someone to correct me. As I said before most of the programs are not streamlined in just nursing education to which I believe the OP was asking. I did not say all I said mostly. Thank you for the correction.

I think nurse educators tend to lean towards an EdD or PhD instead of a DNP which is mostly based on clinical research. I don't know of any programs that offer a DNP that focuses on nursing education only.

I feel they same way at my current place of employment. I'm 7 months in a I am more burnt than a struck match! I just can not give anymore! I have also started apllying elsewhere and I asked a couple of my colleagues to give me a reference because I do not trust my MD as far as I can throw her! I'm tired of pulling knives out of my back. It becomes a little mundane after awhile. I feel more like a personal secretary than a NP. Sometimes I just feel so defeated and if you "defy" them, your head will roll!

That was FIUs requirement for the application process although it will not be determined solely for admission. That entire exam turned me off completely.
