I didn't really know that I wanted to be. I was in my third year of nursing school when I lost my job as a vet tech. So I was applying for anything that would work around my classes. I was working at petco when I got the call that I had gotten the job. I started in June and have learned so much more than my clinicals will ever teach me. Also made me much more confident with my clinical classes. Also made me realize once I finish my bsn this year I want to go back to for respiratory therapy while working as an RN. I love my job but cannot wait to be an nurse next year! =)

I just actually bought my first pair was able to try them on and everything. I wear a size 5-7 jeans and 36dd bra size and i was able to get small bottoms and medium top. I made the big mistake of getting small cherokee bottoms and wishing for the xs so maybe they run a little more normal in sizes cause cherokee runs large most scrubs I've been good with small bottoms, and medium tops. I work on a busy PCU floor, with tons of admits during the night. Basically the same as day shift minus having to feed the patients and bathe them. Vitals q4, changing, bathroom assistance, chem sticks, call bells.

I really want to work in peds oncology. I feel I chose this because I want to be able to use my learned skills from school to make them feel somewhat better, however I want to use skills that cannot be taught in school such as my bubbly personality, AND strength just to make them laugh and smile, even if its just for a little while.

I want to start off by saying that i'm a senior in nursing school. I work as an aide on a PCU floor and an ORTHO nuero floor. I've known since high school that I wanted to do some kind of peds nursing. I thought PICU, but after thinking about it and exploring the floors and doing my research I've decided that oncology is for me. I feel that my bubbly personalitly and the strength I have would make me a fit. I've been on floors where i've seen nurses thinking about it just being a job. I want to be there friend while their there, I want to be able to make them smile even if its just for a while. Is anyone here in this field of peds, how did you get your job? I know its a tough one but I know that this is what I want to do. So tell me about your job.

we have rrt's and codes they are announced as the same thing over the speakers so basically some protocol as code blue, little less severe. However we've had a few code ice's come in and ICU be full and the code ice had to stay on our floor. which requires 2 nurses for that one patient let me tell you that night was horrible. But yes legit code blues I've been there since june and seen 3. I work full time as well.

I wear crocs on my 12 hour night shift on a very busy PCU floor. I first bought nurse mates to wear but after about 4 weeks they killed me so much that i switched to the crocs. And I'm very happy with them!

I would love nine. I work on a very very busy PCU floor. On any night we get 2 to 15 admissions, about three codes a nights, many code greys involving security due to angry family members. We have to do vitals every 4 hours, so thats three times a shift. There usually all complete care. Most of the time i'll have 15-20 patients on my own. The floor has 46 rooms but most have 2 beds. And sometimes the one aide will have the whole floor to herself. So please do not complain about nine patients I would love nine patients.

I work at two different hospitals as of today. As an aide and a PCT. The one hospital I have to wear all hunter green. The aides wear hunter green and the RNs wear burgundy or white or a mixture of the two. For the PCT job I'm going to have to wear white pants and a teal top.

I found the test very easy, interviewed well. I just got a call that i scored and 86% which is passing and was offered the job!! Wooohooo

It's for patient care tech. I am in nursing school. I have one more year left. I don't know too much about reading telemetry monitors yet. I took a phlebotomy class over the spring because i'm really interested in working for the iv team. So its basically just like a common sense have worked in hospital and am in nursing school so it should be pretty easy for me.

I've been working for a few months as a nurses aide on a pcu floor, basically q4 vitals, emptying foley bags, and JPs, assisting with ADLs. Feeding patients who cannot, blood sugars. Basically the normal aide jobs except that its a pcu floor so all the patients have heart monitors and vitals are done every four hours where as on the other floors there q6 or q8 i also work 7pm to 7am. Full time. Tomorrow I have an interview on an ortho floor at a different hospital for a per deim sched. I have completed one year of clinicals the HR rep said there is a challenge exam where you have to think like a tech not a nurse. So what kind of questions would be on this exam. I know things like if vitals change drastically or BP is high or temp or pt is in pain blood in stool or urine when it hasn't been high or low blood sugar to tell the nurse. What other things will be on this exam?

I did it for years it has nothing to do with loosing so many, I worked emergency general, and large animals. Like you said agree to disagree but one final question which has probably answered your own question right from the beginning "Maybe the loss of so many patients I became hardened?" Is that going to happen with people too maybe you'll be on this board in a few years telling us everything is replaceable?
