CNA - how do you get into a hospital instead of Convalescent Home?
I started my first job as a cna at a nursing home I actually worked there five years until I got tired of it and I started applying at the local hospital it took me quiet a while until I finally got a call and interview. I applied almost every time I seen a new job posting and that is what you have to do sometimes. I have now been at that hospital six years and also receive my cna II while there

Getting my CNA
I live in nc and i know the high schools around here you are able to take cna but once you finish with that class you still go to take your state exam. Now our colleges no longer offer the lpn program its just the rn program now. Most places ate wanting rn not lpn and lpn can only work like alf but they are using med techs now. So its better to just get your rn thats what i am doing

Any CNAs who don't plan on going for LPN?
I have been a cna for 11 years i got my cna 2 to years ago i have always wanted to be a rn but i have 4 children and work a fulltime job. So i finally decided that when i youngest started kindergarten this i was finally going to college and i did. It is really hard at times but i have been able to take alot of my courses online. The hardest thing is having to learn everything back over when you have been out of school over 16 years. But i keep telling myself i am going to do it bc i dont want to be a cna forever
