  1. I'm also a labor and delivery nurse looking to go to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this summer. I would love any information you can share on the application process and Helen Ziegler as a company.
  2. This sounds like a sure money maker but a lot of liability...would love to "follow" this idea and see how it works out. Keep me posted.
  3. DFRAZIER25 posted a topic in Travel
Curious to anyone's experience working with this travel company as far as on time pay, housing, call off, sick call ins. etc. Any info. would be appreciated.
  4. I'm considering a 13 week assignment in Roseville,Ca at Kaiser in labor and delivery. Any info. on the area and the hospital would be appreciated. The good, the bad and the ugly all input is welcomed!!!
  5. Once ctx. are adequate I don't touch the Pitocin!! Leave it be. Sometimes you will see if you turn it off or down your ctx. go away all together or they become irregular and not strong enough.
  6. I went into OB straight out of nursing school, so it is possible. If you're sure that's where you want to be I would go there first. Med-Surg will always be around and will always have an opening but I can't say the same for OB. I would most def do my preceptorship on OB if you can because that is a way to get your foot in the door. Be sure to voice your interest to your preceptor as they may be able to help you get a permanent job. Good Luck!!
  7. I worked while in school and got married. Although I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, it is possible! If this is what you want to do I wouldn't wait for someone to come to talk to me about it. I would be proactive and get started now. You have to be extremely organized and have great time management skills. I know alot of people who worked as CNA's while in school. Most people worked at night and on the weekends. I do believe this will give you an upper hand when you graduate as you will have experience in the healthcare field and you will already have built relationships with seasoned nurses and management. It is possible, but don't overload your plate!!!
  8. Good luck to you all. I graduated from TCC's program. I loved it but it is hard work. Be sure to take advantage of lab hours!!
  9. I also would like any info. on the San Antonio area. RN pay with 5 years experience in L&D and Med-Surg. Schools, housing costs, etc. My family and I are considering the move.
  10. @NEDRN...is there a way I can email you personally? I have a few questions about travel nursing and private contracts?
  11. Why do nurses refuse to work in Texas??
  12. Thanks for your reply....what's life like in Dallas....what's the best housing, best hospital, best schools, things to do etc.
  13. Hello fellow nurses, I'm looking to take a travel assignment in the near future and possibly a permanent move to Texas if it's "liveable". Any advice on where to take my first assignment? I'm a young married African American woman with 2 kids age 12,5. My husband is about to graduate with a degree in graphic design so I need somewhere with a great job market for nurses and graphic designers as well as good school systems. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
  14. Looking into taking a travel assignment in California to either LA, San Fran. or San Diego. Any advice on where to live what the hospital to work for or to avoid. I'm going to be working as a RN on Labor and Delivery. any help would be appreciated. Also any info on job offerings in the field of Graphic and Web design and Photography would be good for husband who just recently just graduated.
