TCU CRNA program for January 2016
I also got invited for an interview on Sept. 10. So sorry to those who have not heard yet or did not get an interview!

How I ace my CRNA school interview.
I am very encouraged now after talking with you a little bit. I thought I had a decent shot at getting an interview with my scores and grades and all that, but I didn't want to overestimate myself haha. But I can't wait until I actually start CRNA school, I think it will be a lot of fun. Tons of studying and hard work, granted, but I love science, so I think I am geared toward this.

How I ace my CRNA school interview.
Thats good to know! I scored a 320 on my GRE, so I was hoping that was going to help me sort of stand out and get an interview. I also have my CCRN and CSC as well. But I will definitely go in there and be humble! Just hope I can go in there and leave with them still wanting me, assuming in invited to interview. Thanks again for the awesome advice. Will definitely keep you updated!

How I ace my CRNA school interview.
I appreciate this post a lot! I applied to TCU this summer, just waiting to hear back about whether or not I will be invited to interview. If so, I will definitely be applying some solid points from this post.

TCU CRNA program for January 2016
I will be applying this year for January, 2016 start!! Just got my PALS today, will hopefully have my CCRN by late May/early June. This will be my first time applying anywhere, so I am both excited and extremely nervous.

How can I best increase my chances for admission?
Thank you all for your responses! I guess I was just worried about my lack of experience, time-wise, and if that would play a factor in their decision. So you think I will be able to at least get an interview?

How can I best increase my chances for admission?
Hi, all! A little about me: I graduated nursing school May of 2014, immediately started my job in the cardiothoracic ICU at a well known level 1 trauma center in June 2014. It is a 24 bed unit that takes the sickest patients in the hospital, and really the metroplex. We do everything from CABGs, to valves, to LVADs, balloon pumps, heart/lung transplants, and our ECMO program is growing quickly. I started taking LVADs and balloon pumps about 4 months out from starting there on the unit, and took my first ECMO patient about 5 months out. My stats: Cumulative GPA 3.80, Nursing GPA: 3.75, GRE 320...A's in major's bio, chem 1&2, A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, statistics. I am taking organic chemistry this spring semester to both apply to several programs that require it, and to boost my resume a little bit. Now, I know my deficiency is definitely my lack of experience, but I will have 1.5 years of experience for all programs starting in Jan 2016 and more than that for programs that start later. I have ACLS obviously, will be taking PALS in march, and will take my CCRN as soon as I am able to in May/June. Oh, and I participate in different things on the unit, such as Journal Club, where we present articles that apply to our patient population. And I am going to be precepting new interns a little bit that are just now starting on our unit. What would you all recommend I do to further increase my chances of being accepted? I appreciate your responses, and for reading this long post!

UTA FALL 2012
I didn't have any considerations rubyredd, and they called maybe around 1 p.m. yesterday. If you have similar stats, then I would expect them to call you soon!

UTA FALL 2012
Thanks everybody! I was accepted to the on campus program. My stats were 4.0 for science and 3.86 overall.

UTA FALL 2012
I received the call today! I am officially off of the wait list. Good luck to everyone else waiting for the call!
-
UTA FALL 2012
No phone call for me either...I hate being in the dark in all of this and not knowing how many people are getting called.
-
UTA FALL 2012
Me too Thomas!! Does anyone know when they will start making calls?
-
UTA FALL 2012
I applied for the on campus program. I was wait listed for the fall

UTA FALL 2012
rubyredd...I am taking both of those this summer, but I don't start until June. Good luck and let me know how those classes are!

UTA Spring 2013
I was put on the waiting list for the fall with a 4.0/3.86 and no considerations. I wish our advisors would be a little more helpful in explaining exactly how the ranking process works.

UTA FALL 2012
That was unnecessary, Foxy. No need to put others down because they think they deserved to get in. I have a 4.0/3.86, so I think I deserve to be in over you. It shouldn't matter where I took some of my classes because my GPA is higher. Now I don't say this to be condescending or anything, but you brought this topic up so you're going to hear my two cents. The considerations should ONLY be for people with identical GPA, when the college of nursing is deciding on who to admit at the end of their list.

UTA FALL 2012
I'll be taking pharm and patho in the summer, Marie. I'm excited to take those because they seem interesting and they are actually nursing related classes. I was at TCC for four semester plus two summers and I only got two B's. I don't think either one of us should be penalized for not taking all of our classes here. From what I've heard though, a lot of people got called off of the waiting list for this spring semester, so I think both of us have a good shot to make it in!
-
UTA FALL 2012
That's ridiculous! Not that I don't think they're worthy to get in, but in my opinion those people who have higher GPA's should be accepted first. Its almost like they are punishing those of us who have not been at UTA long. I was only at UTA 1 semester before I applied, but I have done very well in my classes. I don't understand it at all!

UTA FALL 2012
I hope we do too Marie!! I feel the exact same way...I want to know the gpa's of everyone who made it in ahead of us. We both have 4.0 science and over 3.8 overalls, so I thought for sure there wouldn't be 120 people (or however many spots there are) with gpa's better than that! From what all of the nursing advisors and everyone at the college of nursing told me, it is based mostly off of GPA. But I have a feeling there is more to it than that.

UTA FALL 2012
Hey Marie, I am in the same boat as you. I have a 4.0 sciences and 3.86 overall. My second semester here with no considerations. I thought for sure my gpa would be enough!
-
UTA FALL 2012
Congrats!! That's awesome. Out of curiosity, since I was wait listed, what was your gpa?
-
UTA FALL 2012
I sure am hoping so!! Do you know around how many spots open up each semester for those wait listed? I know it fluctuates, but have you heard an estimate?
-
UTA FALL 2012
I have a 4.0 for my sciences and a 3.86 overall

I got wait listed for the on campus program...how heavily are the considerations weighed? I thought my gpa would be enough
