So I recently was contacted for a phone interview by a nurse recruiter at a hospital. I live out of state so the recruiter set up a phone interview with the floor manager. The night before the interview I received an email from the recruiter instructing me to email her if I received no phone call from the hiring manager. Sure enough the hiring manager never called. I contacted the recruiter who said she would contact the manager. Eventually I contacted the recruiter a few days later because I had not heard anything. She said she did not know why the manager didn't contact me and that she would do her best to make sure the interview happened because they were very interested in me. Another week has gone by now and I have not heard anything. I emailed her today. Any advice or insight on what is happening or how I should proceed from here?

I received a request from HR to interview 3 hours after I applied. Hopefully this leads to a unit interview!

Hi everyone! I am moving to Fayetteville NC in October. I will have exactly one year of experience in Oncology/Palliative Acute Care at the time of my move. My question is what is the job market like for ADNs in Fayetteville? I am so interested in Cape Fear Valley...how far in advance do you reccomend I apply? Thank you for any input you can give me!

I think the advice to call HR directly is good...even better cotact the hiring manger for the particular floor you want to work on. You need to think outside of the box these days. Yes, nursing jobs are harder to get into right now because organizations want the cheapest but yet the most qualified workers. I applied to over 200 positions. The floor I got hired on I asked the director of nursing directly for an interview. If you want something you have to ask for it right?

Untrue. I just got hired today in acute care. There is hope!

Sweetlilwolf! I can't afford it either. I took one class and my pell grant covered it. Even though it's one class it's still working towards BSN to employers.

Did you get the job? You sound just like me! I too have an interview at a LTC facility and an Oncology/Palliative Care floor next week. I'm just wondering what questions they asked you at both interviews. I'm so anxious!

Hi everyone! I had an internship over the summer through school on an Oncology floor. I passed boards last week applied for a position on the same floor and had a phone call for an interview the next day. My interview is this Friday. So thankful for this opportunity. I hope I get the job, yet I am also so so nervous to begin my nursing career!

Hey guys! A little update: I graduated August 10 and got my license on September 12. Since the 12th I started sending out applications. I already have an interview next week on the Oncology floor I interned on and on an early Alzheimer's unit at a nice LTC facility! Wish me luck!

Well, it would have been nice if you gave a little more insight. Since this last post I have actually heard the contrary. A lot of ADNs in the graduating class before me have been successful landing jobs in acute, subacute, and LTC.

Well, Hemmatmahdi, you must not check your student email. I am a Bryant & Stratton student as well, and I'd like to post a correction to this thread. Early into the winter semester the nursing student body recieved an email informing us that we do, in-fact, have a dean that was recently hired, and our accreditation status is NOT in jeopardy. I am in my last semester at Bryant & Stratton and I, like many of you, scoured www.allnurses.com for any helpful tips about my school and the nursing profession. Bryant & Stratton was a great place to go for my ADN. I feel so prepared to enter the world of nursing. I have a lot of friends that attend other nursing schools in the greater Milwaukee area, and let me just say I can definitely tell I got a great education at Bryant & Stratton. It is a farily newer program that is always evolving. It seems most of the kinks have been worked out but you'll always encounter an issue or two with any program you enroll in. We have one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the area...this school must be doing something right! As for the credit transfer question, all of my nursing credits from Bryant & Stratton have been accepted at UW-GREENBAY for their RN-BSN Online bridge program. Bryant & Stratton also announced recently that they are beginning a BSN program as well.

Hi there! I am a soon to be ADN graduate. I only have respite care experience and am starting to feel deep regret about not getting CNA experience and a foot in the door in a major hospital. Just wondering if any ADNs had an easy/hard time finding a job in an acute care setting in Milwaukee and what kind of experience you had going into it. I am highly motivated individual and am already enrolled in UW-GB's RN-BSN bridge program that will start 3 weeks after graduation. I am hoping this will help my resume as well as ACLS certification and 8 year job history at the same place of employment. Thoughts/Comments?
