Hi there, I just recently finished my cap this month and based from what i read, the nznc will only approve your cap letter if you have 2 years paid experience along with the other requirements such as ielts all 7 (multiple sitting), credentials, etc. I met alot of filipino nurses who is currently under student visa and working as health care assistants here. Basically, most of their end goals would be able to do their cap and become nurses because working as a HCA wont give you any residency here. In addition, the salary of nurses are almost twice the salary of HCAs. Undergoing student visa may cost you even more. Here's a summary: Student Visa (max 20 hours work per week) 1 year tuition with pocket money and other expenses (approx upto 800k-1M) Whereas.. Visit Visa CAP for Nurses 8 weeks tuition with pocket money and other expenses (approx upto 400-500k) In short, if you plan on becoming a nurse here, might as well take CAP. Dont rush it. Take some experience and come here at the right time. It will save you more money. Note: Currency above in peso.

Sure bootsrn. First I searched for the requirements on how internationally qualified nurses can apply in nz. You need to undergo a bridging program where they convert your local nursing license to their own. But before that the council should find you eligible based from their set standards. It consists of stage one and two. Once you satisfactorily completed their requirements, they will send you a cap letter in which you will use for your 3 mos schooling. This is the only way you can become a nz rn. Im currently in the middle of my cap program and will be finishing by march. Hope this helped.

Hi im working in oman a year ago (technically a month ago-dec2014), and got my cap placement in auckland this month. Well based from what i saw, read and heard regarding canada and nz, well canada is the best country for you if your still young and just starting in your nursing profession. Because before you can practice as a regnurse, you need to pass their exam. Taking their exam is not a walk in the park so you need an immigrant visa for it in order to stay longer and take your chances. This spells trouble for old experienced nurses for they need to support themselves working in a blue collar job until they get a license and work as a nurse. Thats the reason i didnt take that path. On the other hand, nz is much more easier, you will need to undergo a bridging program for almost 3 mos, get registered and work immediately as a nurse. This is also same for australia but based from their economic condition, they're still decreasing their unemployment rate and this could spell problem for internationally qualified nurses. Hope i gave you some insights.

Hi, i will be starting my cap this month in auckland.. Regarding the cash, well for the initial registration, you would need to have atleast 30k for paper works and processing this includes authentication, registration fees, courier, and transportation allowance. If you plan to hire an agency for it, add another 15k to that. Once you receive your cap letter, its time search for a school, mine cost an average of 300k plus additional 100k for agency fees. Next to it would be visa application. I paid roughly 30k plus for their services. In addition to that, 10k for medical clearance and almost 10k for visa fees etc. You also need to have a show money of 150k plus and more or less 60k for you one way ticket to nz. All in all, you need to have atleast 700k. Thats the path i know and i hope i gave you an idea. Goodluck. By the way, those figures are in ph peso denomination.

Everybody goes to that kind of process. Just dont stop believing in yourself and improve! Your just starting and its all part of it.

Hey bro im working in oman, im here in salalah. I also got almost the same score as you in ielts. What i did is that i applied for nz nursing council. Now im waiting for the cap approval. Our friends here are correct you should have a plan because ielts do expire. So hurry up and decide where you want to go bro. Btw you heard about our increase here? I heard 36% basic salary?

I heard that too. Thats the reason why we have decided to apply and go to nz. Oz is too risky not to mention the amount of money you need to shell out.

Here in the middle east if say that, discrimination takes place. They will say i am blah blah blah, i live in this country do this do that, im paying for you to work, etc (specially if im in triage) my best weapon against them is the blank stare with matching if you have a problem u can go to administration tom morning hehe

Im working in the middle east and dealing with arabs is very hard. It starts with a quiet first 2 hours then one by one their coming like zombies and the moment you notice it you dont have anymore plants to save your area. (Not to mention languange barrier). Some do relieve your stress when they appreciate your efforts.

The only docs i submitted from ME are my certification of employment letter and 2 professional referrnce from my supervisors here in out hospital.

Nope i still didnt submit it because based from the new reqs of nznc they will not require any police document unless you completed the 1st stage of application. I advise u to complete all ur necessary papers in the phil through ur relatives. All the info is on their website. U can check it out

hello kunkaren, ur correct its not strict here compared to saudi but salary here is not as competitive as compared to other gulf countries like kuwait, qatar and specially dubai. Ive been working here for almost 3 years now and learned so many things. If your a newly grad who wants to earn further experience, oman would be such a good place to start. But if you have the resources, try lodging to a better country like Australia, NZ or Canada. One thing is that people here are planning to migrate elsewhere after saving enough money. Best of luck.

Hello glimpse, im also working here in the ME and already submitted my application only this last june when i had my annual leave vacation. Now im back here working and still waiting for the reply from nznc. I will let you know if all my documents were processed and successfully lodged the second stage. For now i advise you to read all their reqs
