  1. It could be that some of the people who are #14 to #24 decided that they didn't want to be on the waitlist anymore.
  2. Personally for me I'm not too concerned about it because I know we start clinicals fairly early in the school year, and also, after 1.5 years... we will be able to get our RN license... so that 1.5 year that it is online-based, we have the opportunity to find a job and work as RNs and that's is the most hands-on you can probably get.
  3. I emailed her this past Sunday and just got a reply on Tuesday. so two days.
  4. I emailed RF about updates and here's her reply: "As of now, all slots have been filled. But, in case there are any changes you are now number 6 on the waitlist." I was #25 on the waitlisted before.
  5. nope, I haven't gotten anything. when did you receive this?
  6. ah thank you so much! I actually won't be attending this summer anymore, I got into a California school.
  7. Congrats to everyone who got in and everyone who is patiently waiting. For those who got into UCLA or want to get into UCLA, why was UCLA one of your top choices?
  8. Just got an email today from UCLA at 12:51 PM today. Waitlisted for #25. Last name starts with an S. I'm really sad about it, but I'm just happy that I got into my other top choice school. Good luck to everyone else and keep working towards your goal, and whatever school you all end up choosing, just know that everything works out for the best.
  9. no point worrying. just wait.
  10. congrats! would you mind sharing your stats and extracurriculars?
  11. Any former or current MECN students here who can answer a few of my questions?
  12. Congrats! if you checked the earlier posts (it's not too far back), bro.nurse created a Facebook group for the cohort.
  13. @BruinMECN2016 (1) Why did you choose UCLA over all the other schools? Did UCLA's MECN program live up to your expectations and what do you love about it? If you could elaborate on your experience there so far, that would be great. (2) What would you say the estimated budget (everything included -- tuition, rent, books, etc.) is for the two years MECN program? Thank you!
  14. stay hopeful! different schools look for different things.
  15. ah really?! that's my first time hearing that and I really hope so! I got into Western too, and if I got into UCLA I would have a hard time deciding, especially since the total cost would be so much cheaper at UCLA.
  16. YES! I know exactly what you mean. I'm so excited and absolutely cannot wait to be a nursing student (especially at Western) AND eventually an RN!
  17. hey bro.nurse, the link your posted didn't work. what's the name of the Facebook group you created? is it for all MSN-E cohorts? if so, I can keep the other one too specifically for Cohort XII. also, bro.nurse (and any other current/past students), what would you say the estimated budget (everything included -- tuition, rent, books, etc.) is for the three year MSN-E program? I know the first year is around 80K, and I'm assuming that the next two years will be significantly less since part of it is distance-learning. just trying to financially (and emotionally) prepare myself, lol.
  18. Congrats Happy, Hello, and Smiles! I, along with another person I met at Early Acceptance Day, got into the program as well so we started a Facebook group for the Cohort (XII). The name of the Facebook group is: Western University of Health Sciences - MSN-E Cohort XII
  19. really? can you elaborate on your personal experience amberusky? from Preview Day and from the Early Acceptance Interview it really seemed like the faculty (and students) were very welcoming, created a really friendly and personal environment, and were there to support us... and that was something I did not feel from UCLA's MSN preview day (which was more robotic and disconnected).
  20. that's so awesome, I love the support system that Western embodies.
  21. okay yay thanks bro.nurse. I also started a FB group for Cohort XII.
  22. I wish you guys all the best of luck, continue to stay hopeful!
  23. is there a Facebook group for just the college of nursing in general?
  24. I got into my first choice school so will be removing myself from the Phoenix location. best of luck to everyone!
  25. I would say yes for that certain situation, I came in with the intention of doing my best and I also left feeling confident. I'm sure if you just be yourself, be proactive, be confident, and truly love nursing... the staff will see it. :)
