  1. Fyi update....I graduated my FNP program and passed my boards. Thank you all for your kind words!
  2. On call as an RN was 9.50 an hour at hospital. If called in, paid regular rate for a minimum of 4 hours.
  3. No live classes. Interaction is completed via discussion board. Sometimes there are video supplements to the reading/learning for the week. I really enjoyed the program and felt challenged.
  4. I'm starting my final semester there September 2nd. :)
  5. New grad jobs can be hard to come by in the hospitals, but not impossible. Starting pay at hospital is anywhere from 28-31 an hour as a new grad. To get into l & d, you may have to pick a different area then transfer after 6 - 12 months. Enjoy MN, I love it here.
  6. http://www.nationalnursesunited.org/affiliates/entry/rnrn Try this one. I believe it is free for you due to donations.
  7. Occupational health.... that is my answer, every time. ... :)
  8. Occupational health...
  9. Yes, several people questioned why. I found the most resistance cam from those who did not have a MSN yet... needless to say, the ones I have talked to that are positive about it said the work you do as a NP is totally different as a RN. So really they are two separate forms of training/mind frame. There are not as many NPs out there as there are RNs. Jobs are easier to come by, just look online... many say they are willing to take new grads. I'm happy I kept going... :)
  10. I started my 2 year prerequisites in 2007, and graduated 2010, started my Bsn the semester after and graduated 2012, Started my MSN FNP the semester after and now have 1 year left... I haven't taken a break from school yet...
  11. I say go for it... that's what I did, and I got a job while in school, so when I graduate, I will have experience under my belt. Plus, continuing education looks great on a resume! Good luck!
  12. Occupational health............ ♡♡♡♡
  13. I have considered the same options. I came to this conclusion. I can work as a fnp or instructor with a msn fnp. Fnp classes can be more time consuming and difficult. I can only work as an instructor with the nurse educator msn. Me personally, I like having the most options possible, so I am for the msn fnp route. Your choice either way! :)
  14. I'm working on finishing my fnp as well. While primary care sounds intimidating, I think your gut feeling is right with this scenario. If it was my decision, I would do the primary clinic.
