I got an email Friday...am so excited and looking forward to the learning adventure. From my understanding, more applicants were accepted for the upcoming cohort and that's why they're trying to see if some students can go part-time so that there's more room for clinical placements. I received a call this past week and it was a positive conversation. The official acceptance letters from the school will be sent out in a few weeks. I might opt for the 8 week assessment course. Anyway, also I was told everyone that applied will receive a call out of respect. All the best! Hope to see you guys on April 26th!

Hi Tdittman! Am starting my masters too on May 22nd but am in the nursing education program. Best wishes to you!!

Nursing school was moderately stressful. Once you learn how to answer the questions the "Nclex way", then you're good. My hardest semester was the 1st one because of how different the testing is from other majors. I did lots of practice questions and that helped. You also have to have an interest in the courses. Don't let negative people discourage you. If you like group studies that is helpful. Don't wait to study at the last minute. Also, record the lectures and listen to them as you drive places. I was fortunate to have be in a class where we all supported each other from Semester 1 till gradation. It was an enjoyable experience because we looked out for each other. When in doubt always ask, don't feel shy or bad...Best wishes and hope you get to be a nurse!!!

As an Alumni of Aria, it is a great program!! Not sure how it will be like since they are merging with Thomas Jefferson. Its unfortunate that diploma programs are being phased out. Going through Aria prepared me to be the nurse I am today. Lots of hands on training!!! Plus the preceptorship at the end of the program very beneficial. The program at the time 2012 - 2014 only cost about 23,000 in total ...Since it was a collaborative program with Penn State, I graduated with an associates in Liberal Science, Diploma in Nursing and a BSN ( 23,000). Faculty members where very helpful as well, they wanted everyone to do well. Nursing school is not everyone's cup of tea and other students needed more help than others. Aria did a good job in communicating with students what their expectations where during the program. No regrets!!!

I try not to eat before bed otherwise I wake up earlier than planned due to acid reflux. If am too hungry then I just eat something really light i.e small bowl of oatmeal or banana.

I've experienced some level of bullying from a PA and I decided to tell her off coz she had such bad attitude every time I spoke with her over the phone.....After meeting her recently, she seemed very nice.Hope it stays that way. Talk about nurses eating their young. There's a few nurses that are sarcastic at work and just giving them report is like a night mare.....

Hey DU15, BSN, RN!!!! Technically speaking, 8 weeks of orientaion is not really enough for a new graduate on a med/surg floor especially if one was not exposed too a lot of clinical experience whilst in nursing school. I only had 6 weeks of orientation on the unit am currently working on. Also, My main preceptors had less than 1yr experience. What really helped me was my exposure to a lot of clinical experience because I went to a Diploma school and am also a fast learner. Some people I started with struggled and had to ask for extra orientation days because they were not comfortable being on their own. Usually, your assignments are based on your level of experience. Make the best out of your learning experience and ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask questions when you're not sure of something. Anyways, hope you accepted the job offer because its nowadays, its quite challenging to get a job as a new graduate. Best wishes!!!

Also try Texas health.... They have a versant program and but it has a 2 year committment. It will be open for this summer.

I recently went through the process of endorsing my PA RN license to TX RN license. I found the finger printing part a little confusing but after figuring it out. Instead of doing it online, I decided to call IdentoGo to register my ink card submission. Then I went on the TX BON and requested for a finger print card. I received the card within a week. There after, I went to my local police department and got my finger prints done (for free :)) and sent them to indentoGO along with a check. I also had to do the verification on my PA license. Being they do not use nursys.com. That had to be done by mailing in a form which I printed off the TX BON website. Of course my last step was to take the jurisprudence test. The whole process took 8 weeks. I put in my application 12/9 and only got my permanent license 2/5/2015.

I had to go through the same process. I requested for the finger print card from the TX BON...They sent it through the mail with instructions. I went to my local police department and got my finger prints for free...

Thank you ahalver09!!! So you are at an advantage than myself. I don't have a NC License Just a PA license...

It is frustrating...I really thought NC was the place for me but I've almost given up. Do you guys have a NC license?? Seems most recruiters give first priority to those that have a license in the state where the job in being offered. Which ever way, updating an applicant on their status is better because that way you can move onto something else. Good luck in your search...

Hey jlpolec!! Am guessing you're working in College Station...If so hope your job is going well. I recently applied to Scott and White in Temple TX and just waiting for my license to come through. How long did it take you to get your license?? Will appreciate any feedback.

How long did it take to get feedback after your first interview? I had a phone interview last Friday and was told my application would be moved to pool.. Good luck to everyone that's in the process of interviewing or got a job...

The search is still on....Haven't heard anything from Duke. I had an interview in Morehead City NC, drove 9hrs and only to be told NO job offer. No regrets because I was probably not meant to be there. I am not loosing hope but praying a job starting early this year. Best wishes to everyone that is waiting/hoping for a job offer.

Hi tmbeede, Your post has really encouraged me to consider other options. Sometimes one has to come out of their comfort zone in order to make progress in life. I have been applying to many hospitals in the southern and western part of the US part but I've not really considered ND. I do not really enjoy the cold weather but I can certainly adjust to it. The good news is my hubby is willing to relocate as well. Please, give more info on that. Otherwise, I would gladly take a job offer in a place that gives you opportunity to grow especially in the nursing career. Thank you so much sharing your story. It has inspired me.

Ni NurseTash25, I never anticipated it would be this difficult to find a job as a nurse. Its quite frustrating but one just just has to be hopeful. Have you looked into nurse residency programs?? NJ doesn't seem to have any so you have to be willing to relocate. I am a NJ resident but have a PA license and have mostly been looking out of state. Good luck on you search....
