I worked in the forensic unit at the state hospital. Loved it. Very very interesting unit. I would love to stay in psych nursing, but moved out of state. Pay was a lot lower.

This is awesome information. I wonder how much this has changed since 2007, 5 years ago. I am moving to Tampa area... do you have any current info or suggestions on where to go to look for work? Hello, I am preparing to relocate to the Tampa area. I am wondering about different hospitals that are in the area that are hiring? I have seen people discussing LRMC, Bay Pines. I am wondering what other hospitals are in the area of tampa, Dunedin, Clearwater, Largo, St Petersburg. Preparing for a trip down and would like to have blasted my resume all over the Tampa Bay area first. Suggestions? Also, anyone know what the average start pay of a nurse new with one year experience is? Thanks

What is LRMC? I'm going to be new to the area.. and shopping around for a new job myself...

Do you have any suggestions? We don't have to live close to the water. I'm more interested in finding a job and living in a safe middle to middle-upper class community (like where I can see people outside jogging or ridign their bikes). lol. I am wanting to go into critical care, ER, OB, or cardiac.. but only have psych experience. Know of anyone hiring that will take me in? :) We are coming down to visit in a couple weeks and would love to have suggestions of where to start our hunt.. planning our trip and schedule for possible interviews for jobs and apartments.

I am trying to find out what an rn's average salary is and the average cost of living. would anyone be kind enough to tell me their nurse pay as well as their monthly expenses. this would just give me a better idea of what a cost of living is like. This is the summary of what i we are looking for Income base rn salary per hour bi-monthly pay Monthly expenses house rental (3 bedroom)/apartment Utilities gas electric water phone bills cable car insuranceh ealth insurance groceries family entertainment (theme park, theatre, cinema etc.) dining out anything else you can add please feel free. Hello. I have been a charge nurse at a psych facility for one year now. I will be moving to the Tampa area and looking for a places that will hire with psych experience. I prefer to get out of psych nursing. Can anyone advise who is hiring, the best places to try to get in, and the average base pay for a new nurse? Any suggestions on the better areas that are pretty afforadbale to live in Clearwater or Tampa would be great to know as well. Thanks in advance!

yay, I found the thread. Where exactly is St. Joes hospital? which part of the city. I tried to google search it and there several locations. I am even interested in applying for residency. I am the one that replied to you already planning to move to the Clearwater area. Are these areas you listed very far to drive for work from Clearwater... and what is the start pay of a new grad or nurse with only 1 year experience (psych nurse exp)

I recently read (not I can't find the thread) where you were commenting to a new grad that is having problems finding a job in the Tampa Bay area.
