  1. At my hospital its an additional 6% of your hourly rate added per hour for 3p-11p shift, 8% for 11p-7a shift and then everyone, including 1st shif,t gets an additional 8% per hr for weekends (on top of the shift differentials). Oh and holidays are double time and a half if worked
  2. Sorry I didn't see this till now, they just revamped their point system for 2012 so im not sure how many point you need now, when I entered the program 72 and higher points got in (I started jan 09)... they have 'pre nursing seminars' that you've got to attend before you can apply (or at least they use to) and they can answer a lot of questions plus tell you what the previous groups point totals to get in were.... also, im sure if you do some digging you can fine their point break down on their website and total yours up, that should tell you about how classes transfering in get awarded points
  3. Lansing Community College (LCC) doesn't have a wait list, they rank all the applicants and then take the top x amount of people. If you dont get in, then you have to reapply the next year. You also don't have to take any of the entrance exams. Good luck!
  4. Do you have a contract? If so look in there, or ask hr about seperate maternity leave. At my job its written into the contract that if you need maternity leave before you qualify for FMLA then we get 12weeks maternity leave (its like getting your FMLA early?). One of the more seasoned nurses I work with said something along the lines of 'new nurses get hired and get married/have babies right away all the time, they're (the employer) prepared for it to happen'. Maybe you've got some clause along those lines? Good luck in your quest for baby!
