HESI entrance exam
I thought that the grammar and reading sections were pretty straight forward. For the math there was an emphasis on conversions and dosages. There was even a question on roman numerals. The vocab section had some words that I wasn't familiar with, like: labile, paroxysmal, and occluded. I practiced with some exams at www.test-guide.com/free-hesi-a2-practice-tests.html and I used a study guide at www.scribd.com/doc/27347958/Hesi-Entrance-Examination (which was really long!)

Hesi A2 Study Guides
when i took the hesi A2, i found the reading and grammar parts pretty easy. I did study for the math and vocab areas (which seemed to help). I used some of the materials that others have mentioned in the post. I also used some free practice tests at Free Hesi A2 Practice Tests | HESI - Test-Guide.com i bought the mosby book (blue and yellow review book) but i didn't think it was worth the money.

Hesi A2
I recently took the exam, and in hindsight, I thought that studying for the math and vocab areas helped. Although I bought some test prep stuff, I mostly used free prep material from the web (like www.test-guide.com/free-hesi-a2-practice-tests.html and others). Grammar and reading where fairly easy.

Need help preparing for the Hesi A2 Entrance Exam
When I studied for the hesi a2, i purchased a couple of products (morrison media, mosby exam review) that I thought were not helpful at all. I actually found a website with free hesi a2 practice tests that I thought were helpful (www.test-guide.com/free-hesi-a2-practice-tests.html). The math portion was mainly on conversions and dosages. The grammar was pretty straight forward. The vocab had some words like labile, occluded, distended etc.
