  1. orneyPlease get an atorney ASAP. All the best.
  2. I have experienced this environment and it is sad to say that it can be mind bothering, and mentally draining to you and your family. It is a dilema as to turning them in and facing the consequences of thier reaction or quitting your dream job and moving on. I will say search your heart and do what you believe will bring some peace and comfort to your heart and mind. If you can endure for some time, I will say hang in there. It may be a matter of time to see some positive changes. For all you know they may see you as a threat, thus the hostility. You are a professional nurse and I see you making a difference. Good luck my dear!
  3. nursebatzy, thanks for sharing.
  4. brandy1017 , some facilities permit you to press charges if "these violent mentally ill come in with medical problems, abuse and threaten and at times injure with malice staff". that way you can have some extent of peace and serenity to do your job. if they come in that way and end up with legal charges against them for their conduct, they know better next time inspite of their mi or substance dependance.
  5. thanks asystole rn . a very thought provoking story. after working in a forensic psych for five years, i have learned to stay neutral and not judge. by doing so, you are able to provide the maximum quality care to both parties. after all, our role is to be the nurse and not the judge. we may not always have the facts to the story. even if we think we do, it is not our place to be judgemental of the situation but to follow guidelines and offer the appropriate help.
  6. Congrats! I wish you all the best. :yelclap:
  7. The MD eventually realized he was wrong in asking you to do something out of your scope of practice (assuming you are an LVN). Possibly decided to get rid of you due to his arogance and inability to accept that what he requested was wrong. This is where the union would have played a role. I am so glad you have another offer. You did what is right(assuming you are an LVN) in the sight of God. I wish you well.
  8. In as much as you do all these said, I will suggest you pray over her in your closet. Prayer moves mountains and does what is humanly impossible. Bear in mind that even if she gets out of your way, another challenge will always present itself. Thus, prayer is the best means to calm waters or move mountains. I pray the peace of God will guard your heart in your career. Difficult co-workers are every where.
