NCLEX-RN Tomorrow! What do you think?
oh please dont give up that easily! i know pleanty of good nurses that did not pass the first time. you are not alone and because you didnt pass the first time doesnt mean that you are not meant to be a nurse. if this is something you have wanted to do for a long time it would be a shame to let this test get it your way

NCLEX-RN Tomorrow! What do you think?
i felt the exact same way. i still dont feel 100 percent even after seeing the good pop up twice!! i am nervos to look at my official results tomorrow but i know that everyone says the PVT is right. i got 75 questions as well with meds and SATA that i had no idea about. so do the PVT! i did mine 1.5 hours after my test.

What should I do?Scores in Kap qbank got lower..
try to the PVT me2006!!! thats exactly how i felt when i got done. it stopped at 75 and i was like omg did it stop because i was doing so bad?? the PVT helped calm my nerves. but i am still not 100 percent relaxed until i see the offical results. @watermelon21 ... its so hard to describe how the test was. i know this what everyone says and i was in the same positon as you wanting to know everything. my heart was beating the whole time and i couldnt relax or even believe that i was actually taking the test. when i got a question i had no idea i would just put my head down and pray. i had about 10 SATA, 10 meds, some priority questions, some teaching questions about meds like what would you include about this drug while teaching nurses in a meeting. i also had a lot of pictures... like here is a med... which heart rythem will this help? i didnt know what the med was!? i studied with kaplan. it helped me a lot... it helped me to learn how to look at the question and narrow it down. but its just so hard because there is so much to study but then you dont even get tested on half of the things you studied. i thought it was hard and i felt like i did so many practice questions and i didnt know everything on the test. but its impossible to know everything. i didnt think i was doing that great but then it stopped at 75 and i got the good pop up! so i feel like they dont expect you to pass with 100%... i heard they expect you to miss every other question basically.. so who know out of the 75 questions... and 15 being practice questions... maybe i only got 30-40 right??

I HOPE TO GOD ITS RIGHT!?

quick question on KAPLAN
i was never able to see my rationales for the diagnostic test. not sure why but keep going! i got a 58% on mine as well. i am taking the nclex tomorrow and after doing all the QT bank and completing the trainers i ended up with a 69% on QT 7! dont get discouraged... trust me i felt the exact same way. i got a 48 on QT 3 and felt like a failure. as you go just read the rationales and understand why you missed the question. a lot of the times i would miss questions because i read it wrong or read it too fast! good luck!!

taking nclex-RN on tuesday
hey meltnpointofwax & me2006: i am in the exact same spot as you both!!! i take my test monday. here are my scores: Diagnostic: 59% Question Trainer 1: 57% Question Trainer2: 53% Question Trainer 3: 48% Question Trainer 4: 61% Question Trainer 5: 63% Question Trainer 6: 68% Question Trainer 7: 69% Readiness Exam: 63% (but i took this at the end of my inclass session 3 weeks ago) Qbank- Sample Test 1: 66% Qbank -Sample Test 2: 66% Qbank- Sample Test 3: 83% QBANK 100% done at 63% i went through all of the rationales and i've basically had it up to here with studying. right now i am trying to review but i feel like i have forgotten everything that i've learned. i can't focus at ALL! i'm afraid i am going to go blank at the screen. i am also in the same position as both of you.... i have a job waiting for me at the end of this month. it's not even the job im worried about so much but that i just don't think i could handle studying for another 45 days well lets just hope we are ready!!

nclex 2 days away....
thanks for the advice!! those are great ideas. especially the SATA... which i am horrible at... ugh!!! good luck to you too!!!

So I started Kaplan Q bank...
it is really exhausting! i did QT 7 yesterday (265 questions) and i felt like i got hit by a truck. i did all the tests in exam mode. i feel like i would get distracted by answering a question... reading the rationale and then trying to remember it and then go on to the next question. after i completed the whole test then i would go through each and every question and look at all the rationales. if there was something i didnt understand or wanted to absorb more i would write it down. if i wanted more content on it i would go look it up and add that to my notes. i used up about 100 page note book writing down all my rationales. but thats just me because i learn better by re-writing opposed to just reading! i take my test in 2 days and i am sooo drained from studying. but trust me your scores will improve. i started out getting low 50's and ended up with high 60's! once you figure out how to look and disect the question it will help find the answer. hope this helps! i haven't passed (yet!) so i might not have the best advice but thats just worked for me :) GOOD luck!

nclex 2 days away....
hey everyone! so i am taking my test monday afternoon. and of course the anxiety is setting in and i feel unprepared. but i know this is normal!! i have done my complete qbank and all of the trainers. based on the conversations i've read here i have similar scores as everyone else that has passed (mid 60's). i know i am ready... i just want to get it over with by now! but i just wanted to ask everyones opinion on what to do these last few days as far as studying. i don't have the control to just relax all weekend so i plan on studying until tomorow afternoon and then take the whole evening off. should i just read the study guide from allnurses? should i go over my rationales from the trainers? should i skim over my notes and read the kaplan review book? i'm trying to stay postive but im getting super nervous so i can't focus on anything! everything i read it just goes out the door!? thanks for any suggestions! :)

nclex doubts and worries
i did the inclass review ... the hospital i have a job at paid for it but i believe its 499 one! i know lots of people that have had success with it. i haven't taken the nclex before but i hope it works!!! i know nurses that work at my hospital that have failed it multiple times and then passed once they took kaplan. hope this helps!

Pregnant RN caring for a CMV patient
omg you just made me LOL! i feel the EXACT same way about knowing all the med info with or without food, in the morning, at night, without with milk, with orange juice. seriously!?! haha :) i'm going over the rationales for QT 7 now too! i got a 69% so we are right at the same level. my averages are pretty consistent in the mid-high 60's now... in the beginning i was getting low 50's but then even got an 83 on one of the sample tests so i hope its okay as well! i am panicking too but i realize that its impossible to remember everything. and yeah you are probably right we need to remember that it is going to test us on graduate level info (hopefully) i think im gonna look over my notes from my rationales and then i have a comprehensive review book that i might skim over in the areas i am weak in tomorrow (pharm, endo, and things like hypo & hyper everything!) i wouldn't go back to your school notes. do you have any kind of comprehensive book for nclex? i think i am done doing practice questions and i just want to focus on doing an overall quick review. have you looked at the review document from this website? i can try to find the link or email it you if you dont have it yet. its pretty helpful with mneumonics and random info to know. about the SATA... there is always more than 1 correct answer but never all of them. so basically 2-5 anwers if there are 6 choices. does that make sense? im in NY!! i've never been to AZ but i bet its Nice and warm there compared to here!!!

nclex doubts and worries
thanks for the support and encouragement :) that makes sense about the questions and their level of difficulty. thanks! i'll just have to take my time and try to apply the stategies. i take it monday so i'll probably just review rationales tomorrow & sunday morning and take the evening off to watch the superbowl! i test monday @ 2pm eastern time! THANKS again!!!

Pregnant RN caring for a CMV patient
hey ro2878... i just completed QT 7 today and had the same issues with those questions! its so annoying. but i guess it makes sense that CMV is spread through contact so standard precautions are enough but you just have to inform the nurse. lets just hope we dont get a questions on this!!! i take the exam the same day as you!!! im getting so nervous and drained from reviewing!!
-
nclex doubts and worries
oh god that must of been such a scary feeling!! but im so glad that you got the good pop up! thanks for all the info and pointers about the test! makes me nervous you thought it was harder than kaplan tho and all the SATA scare me!! thats smart about your thought process with the level of questions you got! CONGRATS again!!! :)

What should I do?Scores in Kap qbank got lower..
hey ursweetpea! don't worry that is where my qbank was when i was about half way thru it. i ended at 62% once i completed the entire bank. just make sure you are reading the rationales for the questions you get wrong & right! have you listened to any of the videos? i just completed QT 7 today with a 69%! i am only 3 days away from taking my test! im getting really nervous but im to the point where i just want to get it over with now! dont worry i started out with all of my scores in the 50's in the beginning. i didn't start studying until the 9th of jan so you have time! keep me posted!

nclex doubts and worries
Good luck rodmarkq! i know you will do great! thats good you are relaxed!... i'm to the point of wanting it to just be over with! i'll be praying for you! can't wait to hear from you and see that you got 75 questions! @littlemocoity thank you so much for the flash cards... those are the areas that i need some help with especially. thats awesome you are going to be in the OR too! you will def see improvement after you do some review and see the ways you can look at the question and figure out what they are asking. keep us upated on your scores :) i'm not looking forward to the 265 questions tomorrow for QT 7. i'm reviewing the rationales for QT 6 tonight.
-
nclex doubts and worries
i believe that they get a little harder as they go. i know that QT 6 and 7 are thought to be the hardest. i watched the videos, did content review, and completed my QBank before i did QT 5 & 6 so my knowledge and test taking skills improved by the time i did QT 5. For QT 1 I got a 57 so a 54 is not bad either! i got a 48 on QT 3 !! so don't feel bad :) just make sure you really read the rationales. even of the ones you got right... it gives you great review and understanding of what the question was answering. hope this helps!
