  1. It happened to me too! I'm currently working under a TN visa in Florida and I have my NY license as well and don't need sponsorship. I'm going to call them and ask if there is another way to apply. It's frustrating!
  2. I know the criteria for admission has changed slightly. Take a look at the the website. I also highly encourage you to attend one of the info sessions. There you get a chance to ask any question and get an answer.
  3. No problem! Everything is going well with me! Let me know if you need anything else!
  4. Keep in mind that Stony Brook doesn't only look at your gpa, but they look at your overall application. The essay part of it is what sells you and it presents to the admissions committee who you are and why you want to go to SBU...not all incoming students have stellar gpas. If nursing is what you want to do, then go for it. We all have "bumps" in the road, but that shouldn't stop you from pursuing your dreams. Best of luck!
  5. I am in the 2 yr nursing program at Stony Brook....I may be able to help :)
  6. akaur_2010: I highly recommend that you attend SBU's School of Nursing Information session. They will explain everything for you and at the end of the session, you have the opportunity to ask questions relating to your specific situation. This is the only way you can get your questions answered. You have to register ahead of time, and they hold info sessions once a month. I believe it's on Fridays from 1-3 pm. I am currently in my first year of the 2 year program; if you have any questions about some aspects of the application process, I may be able to help! :)
