  2. So yesterday i had a ga state representative as a pt!!! I asked her what she knew about the bill and she said nothing. She said she didnt know anything about it and had received so many emails and etc from students.... Welllllll i spent around 45 mins after asking her if it was ok to tell her about it explaining the situation... She said when it comes back to the table she wont forget it!!! She also said we had her support. FYI she was a patient for cosmetic situation she wasnt ill but she left very happy.. I also felt very happy because i was able to educate her about the hardships and the strenuous wonderful education program that excelsior college provides. I also discussed the preceptorship issues students are up against.
  3. I just enrolled for the rn bsn program. My situation is kinda crazy because i have a bs and mph and doctorate. I need the bsn because i want to go to a particular DNP program. I am wondering about the clinical component that i was just informed of as of today. It was weird because it is nowhere in the description of the program so i am kinda wondering what that consist of.
  4. nothing like a little cardio to start my day
  5. Wow!!! that is sooo good to know!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
  6. wow congrats!!! it worked for me but nothing is 100%
  7. Quick question, For those grads who finished after the new law was passed in regards to non traditional nursing education. How did you apply for licensure in ga? Did you move from GA?Did you work at the VA? Did you do the preceptorship? Lots of people asking me PM and i went and got licensed in MN. I think this will help others. I am only interested in those who graduated after the law changed that live in GA. Thank you
  8. the sharps container is the red bin. (biohazard sharps container).. My garbage can was black and on the floor by my foot.. i threw the dang needle in the trash bin.. lol
  9. congrats!!!!! welcome to the club!!!!!
  10. OK,so your years of prior RN experience does not matter? A PA can have an undergrad of basketweaving and then obtain a masters in two yrs... I cant believe he said that..Any rate just look for another opportunity that just meant that DR. wouldnt be an individual you wanted to work with. PS.no disrespect to PA's.
  11. They put the dang trash can by you!! Make sure you dont throw the syringe in the garbage can..... I did that during cpne.. thank god i had another chance to do it the next day!! syringe goes in the biohazard bin
  12. I went to Lynns workshop about 3 yrs ago. It was informative and very helpful. It gave me alot of tips for the cnpe. They also had a practice skills exam day which was nice also..Now she is very laid back and not uber professional but she is a nice person and her content was very helpful when i was taking taking the cnpe and writing my nursing diagnosis and planning.
  13. I live in GA i passed my boards in MN. My plan is to get my hrs(clinical done or apply to the VA and work). Congrats on starting te program soon
  14. i went on the bon today and it says i passed... sooo happy the popup trick does work!!
  15. thank you all for the congrats.. i am sooo happy
  16. welll!!!! Today i took the nclex for my third time.. i felt very prepared ,calm and mildly nervous. I arrived 30 mins early to the test center and started 10 mins before my 2pm start time. I swear i was calm as could be which must have been god. I had sooo many sata and 3 pharm calculations. The sata would never stop!!!! I had to pee sooo bad and i told myself when i get to 75 i would raise my hand and take a break... well at 75 questions i clicked next and the exam was over... I wasnt scared... I just had to pee!!! I got up after completing the end of course survey and i told the preceptor "I Passed!!!!" I came home and had the good popup!!!! I know this post seems over confident but i had no clue what i was doing when i took the test the first two times!!! I thought my nursing knowledge was sufficient and i would do well. It caused a depression when i failed the second time.. I decided i would not fail but i would plan and prepare... I took kaplan's nclex review course,i then took a time out and signed up for the test bank and the drug calc tutorial. studied the kaplan book from front to back and studied weekly for 5 weeks. completed around 2500 test questions... Let me also tell you this... I have a MPH in nutrition and doctorate of naturopathy. I live in a state where we as naturopathic physicians arent recognized so i decided to complete my RN while finishing my clinical rotation in Naturopathy. I have said all of this to let those who have failed that its not a measure of your intelligence,or your worth. There are many who have gone through failing the test or the anxiety of preparing and taking an exam... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
