I am so glad one of my classmates is on here! There is so much good info posted here. So hard to believe we start next week! aaaahhhhh! We really all have to help each other when we can and give good encouragement because I have heard some horror stories about this program! LOL. Sorry to hear you are already running into some problems. Hopefully you can get it worked out so that you can focus on school....it sounds like we are already going to be super stressed for the next 12 months so I hope your family recognizes this is for the best! I can't believe it is finally here! I am only ten days away from the start of my 12 month LPN program. Had orientation today and I really like some of my classmates. Super stoked for my future! Good luck to anyone else that is getting ready to start or who has already started. Haven't been this excited about anything in a while. Prepared to give it my all and then some! :)

Do any LPN students out there bring their own portable pulse oximeter with them to clinicals? It was suggested to me that I purchase one due to the lack of equipment in some facilities and that it would be a time saver to just carry a small one with me. Any thoughts? They are fairly cheap, I read reviews and priced out a decent one for $35 but I wasn't sure if it would be worth it. Also, does anyone know if they allow students to bring in portable wrist BP cuffs? I have a very small one that I think would make it much easier while grabbing vital signs but I wasn't sure if schools had a policy against these. I still have 8 weeks until school starts but any input or other equipment ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Love the positive work etiquette you have! It will take you very far in life. And you are absolutely correct everything you said. I bet you are a great CNA and will make a great nurse one day if that is what you chose to do. Keep up the hard work!

Go to your supervisor ASAP. Explain the situation word for word and include anyone else that was involved. Threats are serious and should be reported immediately. You should not ever be in fear of your co-workers at all. Also, I commend you on helping your fellow nursing team with patient care. It sounds like you had the patients best intentions in mind. That is one of the most important aspects of nursing care. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on passing and on your upcoming start of school! I am starting in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited. I just keep telling myself that it is going to be so much work, and that I really need to make sure everything else in my life is as organized as possible before the program begins. It will be tough but don't lose sight of why you wanted this as a career in the first place and with lots of hard work you will do fine!

What is your class schedule like? How much longer do you have? I start an accelerated program in a few weeks so I am not too sure what advice I can offer other than try not to lose sight as to why you started school in the first place. Though it may feel like torture right now, you are definitely bettering yourself in the long run. So many more job opportunities will be opening for you once you graduate and you will be able to help so many people with your education. Stick with it and keep up all the hard work. IT WILL PAY OFF even if it is hard to see the end of the rainbow right now! I wish you the best in your journey!! :)

Hmmmm not sure about that. I would think that they would but definitely read the description/package info on any of the ones you see on Amazon. It will be listed if it comes with them.
