  1. Best comment I've read since joining ANí ½í±í ¼í¿¾
  2. What a great post. I'm now reconsidering NP, since NP was my initial nursing goal.
  3. Hello, This is my second go around at nursing school. I entered the ADN program at the age of 26 and didn't feel that mature enough to handle the autonomy of RN responsibilities, I was pretty much satisfying my grandparents who paid my tutition. Everyone in the program was an average age of 35, with the oldest student 58. This other girl who was 24 and I were the only two twenty somethings. I am getting ready to apply to the BSN/El-MSN program and I am 35. I'm more motiavated then I've ever been, and better prepared emotionally and academically.
  4. I print emails and post them in the area where I do my studying. I also save the everthing in my phone. I even post pictures of the body(skeletal structure, pathophysiology).
  5. OMG, I'm just like you. I went to nursing school back in 2005 and made it all the way to the last rotation(Adv. Med-Surg). I have test anxiety, fear of failing, fear of screwing up once the automony kicks in as a nurse, you name it. I believe it is nursing jitters, I would suggest seeking professional counseling, just to get someone to sort out the root of the anxiety. Trust me, your mind will thank you for it. From one nursing student to another, I know how much you want to be a nurse, it's just the anxiety that is taking control. I hope this helps=>
  6. I'm interested too!! I was looking at their homepage and didn't see anything stating about expiration dates for the sciences. Does anyone know if it's been changed?
  7. It depends on what the healthcare facilities are looking for in your area. These days many HR depts are looking for BSNs over ADNs, I'm not sure why! Just do a little research on where you are looking for work as a RN before making a decision.
  8. Yes, double space and number the pages. A general essay is fine. Good luck!
  9. Yes, I would take Anatomy first. I did Physiology before Anatomy and after sitting in Anatomy lectures, I had that "Oh I See Moment". It would of made so much more sense if I had did Anatomy first and my Physiology grade would have thanked me for it.
  10. Cute1 and Grant That's what I was planning on doing. It would be about a couple of years before I start nursing school, depending on the program. My science prereqs have expired and the only nursing program that doesn't have an expiration date on prereqs is CSULA. Meeka I'm preparing for the GRE and admission process right now just in case.
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I have my family supporting me in regards to child care. Yes LaughingRn, if I had a dollar for every story I've heard about new grads struggling to find work. I know it's going to be a nightmare trying to find work but my passion has always medical, I guess I'm just ready to do something healthcare related.
  12. That was my first choice in the beginning but the more I talk to people about it, the more I get a bit of hope with meticulous budgeting.
  13. I'm at a crossroad. I just received my Bachelors Degree in Health Science. My overall goal is to become a Public Health Nurse. I have a five year old and work fulltime for the gov't(LA County). I live with a roommate and do not have the luxury of moving back home. So I have a couple of ideas: 1.) apply to an accelerated BSN program(12-15months)or Entry Level Master Nursing Program, take a leave of absence from work or resign, and for financial concerns, do savings, borrow from retirement and loans; or 2.)apply to Master's of Public Health Program and then consider nursing school afterwards. My biggest concern is having a stable income for my child. By the way, I did the nursing program ten years ago but dropped the very last semester of the program because of family issues.
