Hi, I would really appreciate if someone would help me understand my current situtation. I am currently an LPN and having been going to school in attempts to earn my RN. I was accepted however will not be able to go at present. I had 2 prior arrests however all charges were dismissed. I have never been convicted or plead guilty to anything. The Louisiana State Board of investagation will not allow me to enter the nursing program this fall until their investagation is complete, which I was informed today that it will not be in time for me to attend nursing school this upcoming semester. The investagator further told me the LSBN did not care if it was dismissed, if they found fought they would take administrative action against me. I was stunned and confused to say the least. These arrests were a very long time ago with ALL dismissed. I have no convictions. Can I be denied entrance all together? Any feedback is appreciated

I am a LPN attempting to do the bridge program at brcc. If I pass the fundamentals and med surg one will I automatically be accepted into the program?

The oaks used to be a good place to work! In 2010 NOMC began taking benefits, pay, and jobs from their employees to pay for all the building. Before the cuts the patient satisfaction scores where in the 90's% and it was about 50/50 with skilled versus new grads. Now it is mostly 80% new grads and the scores have been as low as 2% on some units! The doctors are very aggravated with the facility. The employees are constantly blammed for everything, when obviously it is poor management! Quoted a md exactly, who has worked at the oaks for many years, "nothing will change here till management changes!" Quit blamming your nurses and start taking responsibility for your own poor decisions!

NorthOaks in hammond the night diff for lpn is $2, rn $4 and weekend diff lpn $2.50 and rn $5. STPH starts their lpns off very low. With 2 years experience the pay was going to be like $12.50! Which is crazy! The pay at stph is horrible for lpns however the benefits are good and heard its a good hospital to work at.
