HESI for LPN
I got excited and posted something slightly irrelevant (about the HESI A2), but I don't know how to delete this comment.

Financial aid for LPN as a second degree
... more debt... I did just find a program that'll only cost me about $3000, though. I might be able to save that much with my HHA job by the time it starts.

New CNA Job... What should I wear!?!
At the LTCF I worked at, there was an unofficial dress code where STNAs all wore print tops while nurses wore solids. I went out and bought a bunch of solid tops prior to discovering this. Beware of unofficial dress codes.

Experience as a home health aide
I recently became an HHA too. You sound like you're doing a great job at learning on the job. Can he understand you at all? I always thank people for being patient with me after a difficult encounter no matter their actual behavior. It seems to soften them up, and from their perspective, they are the reasonable ones. I'm betting getting your CNA certification will help a lot with your confidence. I wouldn't have wanted to jump into this job without my STNA (Ohio CNA). When I'm feeling down about my skills, I can at least repeat to myself that I aced a 96-hour class and a comprehensive state exam. Therefore... I can do this thing!

Slower pace environment for CNA's?
I'm in the slow-yet-thorough camp too. I moved from LTC to home health and like it. I do work night shift now, though, so there is a lot of downtime, which I dislike. However, the extra patient interaction (when they're not sleeping) makes up for it. Edit: Oh, I didn't see all the posts. Good luck with the hospital job! I hope it works out better for you.

not physically strong enough to be a CNA...
I find it's all in how you lift. I've successfully turned, transferred, and otherwise manipulated a 267-pound woman, but then had difficulty with a 100-pound woman. It seems to be all about the angles. I'm 4'11" but not at all skinny. I also had to lift a lot more when I worked in a LTC facility as opposed to in home health, so there's another option for you.

Financial aid for LPN as a second degree
Okay, it's the Pell I've heard mixed news on. I'm currently a home health aide and make a small enough amount that I would qualify for a full Pell if I didn't already have a degree. FAFSA and fastweb: Check. I'm going to seek advice from the financial aid people at the school I want to go too.

Financial aid for LPN as a second degree
I already have a B.S. in anthropological sciences, so will I be able to find any funding for a second degree as an LPN? I've been looking around with mixed results.
