Is it a 68% on TEAS to bad?
My program didnt have a specific grade in order to be accepted. Your awesome GPA and others like it was the reason for getting rid of the minimum requirement. Our program added that score to the sciences and GPA for a total score which was then ranked and they picked the top however many... That being said each program is different. As far as the score itself goes dont get too stressed about a 68. The test administrator at my school said the area average was a 64...no one does that well i made a 78 but i only know one person who did better.

Getting a job - from the employers perspective
These things always shock me! Please people review your resume before applying for any job!!!! I also wanted to recomend a free resume builder website that i use that is wonderful. It gives suggestions as to what to put when; and has fill in the blank stuff for jobs and school. It also puts everything in the right order and adds all the right formatting. Resume Builder • Free Resume Builder It has saved my butt as far as filling out a resume. Hope this helps.

Not willing to do the dirty work?
WOW this is absurd!!!!! first of all things like bathing and bathroom assistance help you to do the most important thing as a nurse ASSESS!! second I have done clinicals at some small hospitals that do not have CNAs or Techs. My first semester that is all we really did was "tech work" and I got to know my patients and could do a full physical assessment during. Any of the clinical instructors would send a student home right away for pulling something like this. Sounds like an attitude that needs an adjustment. :/

Nursing School Blues??
Wow this was started a long time ago! I had a conversation with an RN in clinicals who gave me some wonderful advice she said you are not the only one who feels clueless and you will feel like that for a year or two after you graduate. She said you are not alone and just remember all nurses have been there at sometime and dont be afraid to ask for help if you need it. I hope I remember this forever and can use it to get through these moments of doubt and depression. I think all nursing students have a moment of "can I do it?" talk to your class mates or advisor for any advice they know how you feel.

Do new graduates really get a job that easily in nursing?
Ok, so I understand your worries and may have a suggestion for experience. While CNA and Nurse techs are great options you may run into the same problem getting hired, no experience. I am a nursing student and I have a job as a Care Giver for seniors. I know it sounds awful but I have used nearly all of my skills from nursing school ( minus meds) and it helped me get over the initial uncomfortable-ness of bathing someone else and helping them to the bathroom. (And not in front of my clinical instructors) Most of these jobs have mandatory training that allows them to hire people with limited to no experience and train them the way they want. Another benefit is the flexibility of schedules because many Seniors require 24hr care you can work almost any shift and work it around school Its just something to think about. I love my job and while its not always sunshine and rainbows, it allows me to keep up some basic skills like transfers and bathing and the most important HUMILITY. I am learning every day to treat the person and not just whats wrong. I am able to see each of my patients as a person first now thanks to being a caregiver. The company I work for is wonderful and nationwide so if you are interested look it up, its called Home Instead Senior Care.
