  1. Hi guys, It's been a while since I have posted, but I have been working on my Kaplan material and I think it has been pretty successful. I have been in contact with my instructor and she is happy with my scores so far! Here they are and I hope to keep improving on them. Diagnostic: 61% Readiness: 64% QT1: 71% QT2:63 QT3:50 QT4:56 QT5:57 QT6:62 QT7: not taken yet I have also not had my baby yet, he was due yesterday sept 17th, I postponed my exam to the 26th instead, giving me more time to complete the qbanks...so far those scores are... 64, 60, 72, 60 and 60, a bit more to go, I am determined to finish them as my instructor says lots of the qbank q's show up on the test. Anyways, I'll keep going with the kaplan stuff, it seems to work for me. Good luck to the rest of you and lets see when my little boy decides to show up while mommy is studying, lol any day now... :)
  2. I have not posted on here in a while, but I have been going to the classroom Kaplan Review and I love it! For some reason, the decision tree is really working for me so far. Tomorrow I take the readiness test which I am really nervous about. Here are my scores so far: Diagnostic: 61% QT1: 71% QT2: 63% I still have the other qt's and the qbank stuff to do after the class is over, but I hope this is my time to finally pass this exam. I test on Sept 14th and my baby is due on Sept 17, gutsy, I know...but I really want to finish this testing before he gets here so that hubby and I can finally have time together and time with baby without this stressing us out. I think if by the time test day comes and I'm not ready, I will go ahead and reschedule out another week or two just to be sure I'm more ready. I am still doing the NCSBN review, there is just so much content to go through, but I will at least get the exams done in that program to get my money's worth, I have access to that until the 7th and I plan to use it. This is so exhausting!! How is everyone else's review going? any new/recent RN's that have not posted their results yet??
  3. I am pretty tired lately, but I'd like to get this over with before he shows his face. I am determined to do whatever it takes to be an RN before he is born. This is not my first time taking this exam and I can't fail again, it's actually my 5th time, (very embarassing) taking this test. Kaplan is hopefully my key to success, so far I like the program, it'd better be worth my money since its piling on top of all the testing and registration fees for all these repeat tests. I've got more work to do tonight to be ready for tomorrow, let's hope I can stay awake that long, lol
  4. My test date is Sept 14, while my baby is due Sept 17, we will see how that pans out...
  5. Hi Luchcole, I have only taken the diagnostic test so far, 61% yuck According to the email I got from Kaplan, this is all that was required before class starts, as I understood it, you take the predictor after the class, am I wrong? My email stated this: Preparations you will want to make before attending your first class are: Take your Diagnostic Test available on your online syllabus to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Review your online syllabus and under the "My Assignments" tab you will see a list of activities. Please do those that are "required" in the "Getting Started Section" before your first class session. Use your online content review lectures and your companion e-book to shore up any knowledge gaps revealed by the Diagnostic results. Take Question Trainers 1-3 to redirect your studies to any remaining content issues you detect through these practice tests. I am still working on this list.. gonna be a long night...so far, so good...
  6. I am also starting the Kaplan Review Classroom tomorrow (Monday, Aug 27) Where are you taking your course? Mine is in San Antonio, TX. Anyone else going to this one. I just took my diagnostic test and I hope the score was ok, not so happy with it, but it was a 61%. Can anyone tell me what this means? I look forward to your responses! anyway, back to work.... :)
  7. I finally got through to a person, there was a problem with my acct which they fixed. I started the 5 week study today, hopefully its worth my money!
  8. I'm doing the same thing. I'm also doing LaCharity and prob will start the Kaplan book again today, too.
  9. Oh, and I did the live chat too, they told me to call the number... no help at all...left a message, does no good.
  10. That's my problem, I can't even get onto the site to starta subscription...the additional days don't apply to me. I want to get started ASAP.
  11. Now they are saying 8pm central time "we aren't quite done yet"....sigh....hopefully soon
  12. Yea, it is not a very good time for them to do this to us! I am able to login now that its back up but i cannot get to the page to even enroll in the course! so frustrating, I want to get started now! humph...
  13. Hi all, This is so frustrating, I have been attempting all day to enroll in the NCSBN 5 week review course. The site was closed to new accounts until this morning, then they closed it for 5 hours for maintenance. I go back to try to enroll and now their website is all messed up, won't let me sign up for courses. Anyone else having any issues with their site? I'd really like to get started but this is a major road block. I have called their customer service line and cannot get through to a person. The live chat person told me to call their customer service line, I left a message and have not gotten any replies. I go to sign up and I get a popup error! I have turned off my popup blocker and logged in, but still cant get anywhere, any ideas anyone? thanks in advance if anyone can help, I just want to get this course started! :argue:
  14. I failed again, maybe 5th time is the charm...it'll happen eventually
  15. Well, looks like I'm back to the drawing board...
  16. The NCLEX-RN is national exam, its the same test wherever you take it.
  17. Is there anyone else that would like to join us? It would be great to have more people to study with! We have already shared over 30 files of study material and plan to meet on Monday sometime, please feel free to msg either one of us. :)
  18. Say congrats to a bunch of people, lol
  19. Thanks for responding! I am also dreading this test again. I have lots of materials: Kaplan 2012-13, Saunders 5th ed, Hesi review 3rd ed, LaCharity 2nd ed, Lippencott's content review and their q&a book, the made incredibly easy book, and prob more with my stack of textbooks. I know, its a lot. I am not working as no one wants a prego BSN without an rn license. So, I can pretty much make any schedule unless my hubby starts missing me, lol. I've been studying well with Saunders and LaCharity, but somehow I still havent managed to pass. It's very heartbreaking to have to do this again and again, especially with a baby due soon. Hopefully more people respond to this, any help or advice is greatly appreciated! What can I/we do, to prepare ourselves better? I feel like I've done well, but still aren't successful. This is getting increasingly stressful and expensive! :'(
  20. I sincerely hope the PVT fails in my favor. I took the NCLEX-RN for the 4th time this morning, got cut off at 75 questions, felt ok about it but still unsure. There were questions on there that I knew and was hopeful for a few minutes until I checked pvue. I tried to re-register and got taken to the cc screen again, AGAIN!!! I plan on checking the quick results as soon as they are available, gotta reschedule asap. I posted a topic thread that was asking if anyone's interested in starting a study group, but haven't received any responses. I am so heartbroken that I have to study again for the next 6 weeks or so. I don't know what to do, I got mostly mid 70's on my saunders exams, an 80 last night....got lots of questions right in Kaplan, and reviewed everything that I could imagine. I have to pass this test, I am due to have my baby mid September. I have one more chance to take it before he is born and I am exhausted both mentally and physically with this process. Humph, there's my rant.
  21. Hi, I wanted to see if anyone in the San Antonio area would be interested in forming a study group for the NCLEX-RN exam. I plan on retaking the NCLEX-RN asap as I think I failed it again this morning. It shut off at 75 questions but did the pvt only to be taken to the cc screen. I have to get on top of this yet again and could use some help. Please let me know if you are interested!!
  22. Hi nurse2033, The only problem with getting a job in ohio is that most of the residencies dont want you to have a job before starting their programs and besides, my cohorts are only getting interviews so far, the place where I precepted isnt hiring either...
  23. Thanks so much hgerun! I am working on my apps for the residency programs and other positions out there now! I can't wait to get there!
  24. Hi NY2CO, I am soon to be OH 2 CO! I was so happy to see this follow-up from you! I am about to move in march with my husband (active duty military) to denver and I actually graduate THIS Friday!! I wanted to find out from you, what you recommend I do before I get there and once I'm there. I am working on my apps for the University of Colorado residency program for new RNs, and I plan on applying anywhere I can! I really want to be in a residency program that will teach me more about what they want and hopefully it will land me a permanent position for more than the one year that I will owe them. I appreciate any help you can give me since you are the first person that I have found to be in a somewhat similar boat as me!:)
  25. Hi Flo., Thanks so much for your reply!! I have searched nearly all the other hospitals in the area and they all seem to have similar programs. I have yet to hear back from half of them regarding details, dates, etc. I'll do more calling tomorrow to see if they can tell me more. :)
