That's what I'm thinking now, but it's hard to transfer. I'm just waiting to hear back from other schools. Since it's hard to transfer because of different curriculum being taught in each semester, I've heard it's easier to go LPN to RN. There's an accredited school here in my state that offers LPN to RN online, with 6 weeks of clinicals. I talked to some nurses that went that route, and they said that they liked the program. Everyone I've talked to says it's better for the future and job opportunities to go the accredited way.

So I'm finishing up my first year, have one more left. Halfway through, and my school loses NLNAC accreditation! Now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place... I think it's best to get my LPN license and go the LPN to RN route because from everyone I've asked (DONs, RNs, NPs), they've all said that accreditation is a big deal with continuing education and getting jobs and transferring licenses even. What do you guys think?

Good guidelines, but in my nursing school, we study by PBL. It's problem based learning. We don't have a teacher, we have a "facilitator." So we go through case studies, pick out what we think is important to know, each student gets assigned something, and then we bring back the information to class and present it to the rest of the class. It's pretty difficult to get used to. It's like we are teaching ourselves. So, although you have good pointers, it's not like I can go over suggested sections. Simply because the "teacher" doesn't tell us where to look.
