  1. The interviewer told me that the admittance group means once a month to discuss everybody that they've interviewed over that time frame and then will extend an offer at that point. Mine was about 2 weeks after my interview. I received an email initially and then my official offer letter in the mail two weeks after that
  2. Good luck! I was accepted for the acute care part time. Look forward to meeting you all!
  3. Congratulations! I applied for the acute care nurse practitioner program. My interview is this week. What kind of questions do they ask you on the interview?
  4. Ha! For some reason it didn't show the last comments! Sorry for the double! :)
  5. I know the lowest g.p.a. accepted for this fall was a 3.7 with an average of 3.88. From what I understand, the spring semesters average g.p.a. is lower
  6. I just finished week two of not smoking and week one of nursing school. I knew it was going to be impossible to smoke during clinicals so I am trying to get right now! :) You can do this! I am using the nicotine gum because it seems like it is the only thing that helps me. Good luck!
  7. Awesome thanks! See you all tomorrow!
  8. Is anyone bringing their skills kit for the first day?
  9. Alright, I have another question :) IS anyone getting the pelvic exam as part of their physical? I went to the Walgreens clinic for my physical and they don't do them (as i knew) but the woman marked it all out and wrote all over it! I haven't had a chance to contact the school yet, but I am curious what others are doing.
  10. Thanks guys! I finally found a pair! :)
  11. Is anyone finding all white shoes anywhere?!?! Every pair I find has something not white! Even if it is just the logo is shaded in pink or gray.
  12. In the last hospital I worked in I was trained on the job for tech work, with no previous experience. On my first day I asked what RR meant on the vs sheet and was told to "just write down 20". Yeah. I know for a fact some CNA's make up vitals, and weights as well.
  13. I didn't receive an email about workshops. Can you tell me what it said? When did you sign up for the TEAS? I am going on the 1st in the am.
  14. I got my first choice too! St. Anthony's.
  15. All I have recieved thus far was my acceptance email with info on vaccinations, drug tests and background checks....Can someone tell if other info was sent out?
  16. I AM!!!!!!! After wating FOREVER for them to work out my "issue" (and several visits/calls on my behalf!) I just received a phone call from my new advisors, and will be at orientation tomorrow! We should all meet up!
  17. Actually, that is exactly what I do.....coming from a christian.
  18. I have not read all the responses to this post yet, so this may have very well be said. I have read the mandate, the actual mandate that was passed, several times. At no point, anywhere, did i read anything about being implanted with a chip.....and i think that is something I would have noticed. I personally am against this particular mandate, but being implanted with a chip, just like the rumors for enforced euthanasia are just that, rumors spread from individuals who do not know what they are talking about. You can not be informed by others, do the research yourself!
  19. Personally I don't understand the connection between enduring a previous trauma from a black male to not want any black healthcare providers. Furthermore, as a woman I don't care what color/ethnicity my ob/gyn is......but that's just me.
  20. This is completely off-topic but the original cameo reminded me of it. Where I work the staff is allowed to "dress-up" for Halloween. I always thought it would be funny to dress as the grim reaper.
  21. Did you ever talk to an adviser?
  22. Thanks! Will do! :)
  23. This is just my opinion, but if I were you I wouldn't worry to much about spring. I know every semester is different but spring semester is pretty well known for having a lower average gpa than fall. Last spring the average was 3.66, if I remember correctly. You would actually have a much better chance than I would, even though I have a 3.9, as you have more points due to having all classes completed! Personally, I think you will be fine! :)
  24. I did, thanks for asking! :) The advisors said that the lowest gpa that got in was a 3.75. Apparently MY issues was retaking speech. I was retaking to bump my b to an a and bring it to a 4.0. When I started getting B's on my speeches I saw no point in retaking, spoke with an advisor who gave me the go ahead to drop and dropped the class. ...tecnically my speech grade is now a "w", which the head advisor is looking into to see if that is technically a grade. If it is not, they are saving a place for me. If it is AND I happen to get in via the alternate position, I will have to retake speech at some point before I graduate. If my alt number isn't "pulled" I get to try again for spring, although my chances are still reduced if I havent "finished" the class. Pretty much it is continue to wait and see, I may not get a response until the first week of class, but the head advisor said that "things are looking pretty good". I should hear if they are going to accept my b grade in speech within a week.
  25. Interesting. Thanks for posting! I am going to see an adviser on Monday. As far as I know the computer class does not count, but I tested out for it.
