  1. Everline... (or anyone who has an idea), how do you use your MacBook to record lectures... I have a MacAir that I'm trying to use for the same purpose, but haven't found an app yet.
  2. Laptop and Paper (as a backup in case a battery dies, or the instructor doesn't allow electronic devices). I'm also looking into the best solution to use my phone to record lectures. I have an hour long commute and want to put it to good use. I always print off power points and add comments made during lectures or extra notes on them.
  3. Look at your class schedule and try to figure out what you need to carry at one time. If you have 2-3 classes back to back, have alot of stairs to climb, can't go back to your car etc. That usually determines how I carry my books/equipment. Do I need to cart around a laptop, etc. In the classroom, or lab how much space do you have to put your supplies/books??? For lecture we had very small desks with almost no room underneath. I have a large, backpack with a laptop sleeve, and a large wheeled tote... which I carry around depends on my classload that day.
  4. I did it, it's called an academic renewal. I had 30 year old college classes that were less than stellar and I just wanted to start over. The school I was starting at just wiped all the old transferred classes off. The potential problem with this is that you don't get to pick and choose, it's all or nothing. Also, if you need financial aid, they still show that you have those credit hours and I reached the maximum for obtaining a degree and couldn't get any more aid, but still qualified for a private loan. By the way, I'm 52 and will be 54 when I graduate with a BSN.
  5. In case anyone is waiting for the waitlist to clear.... I just got an acceptance email yesterday, and I was on the waitlist. So you potentially won't have to wait until August.
  6. I am considering applying to Chamberlain - Atlanta. I had heard somewhere that in addition to tuition that you need to hire a preceptor for your clinicals privately. Is this true? Or is it old information that was the case before they had an actual campus here locally. Thank you.
  7. On the bright side... the instructor in one of my classes said that they had received about 550 applications (lower than normal) and that about 150 to 200 of them were from people who weren't ready to go into the program. So they are choosing from a pool of 350 to 400 applicants which is much lower than previous years. Our chances just got better. And yes, we will have to wait until April to get the letter.
  8. I'm just finishing up Med Micro this summer. I heard it was really tough and wanted it out of the way before I started Nursing Classes. Talk to your advisor, but if it were me, I'd take it before the classes got progressively harder. If you wait until the last moment they will make sure you get into a class. The class is hard, but it's interesting and I learned alot. BTW, I'm at Forsyth too... look forward to meeting you.
  9. I think if you search UNG ASN program you will find it. Can't wait either!!!
  10. I'd make sure to send her a graduation announcement.... lol
  11. Your right... and Dr. Katzenstein is a wonderful teacher.
  12. Okay, I just sent you a friend request. Should be Julie Forrest rather than the nickname I use here.
  13. Wow... God bless you for that. I homeschooled my two K through 12 and I know how much work that is.
  14. I hope that there is a facebook group for our class... I think it would be great for communication about assignments, organizing study groups, etc. That is too bad about not returning to JC for clinicals... EJC is practically in my backyard.
  15. If you look under the Dahlonega campus instead of the Cumming one it gives you an ISBN#. When I looked that number up on the internet, I didn't get anything. It did look like it will be about $396 for the book package.
