  1. Have you worked there? What can you tell me about it? Interview was very vague just a lot of performance based questions read straight from a paper nothing personal at all.
  2. Uh oh. Guess that's a bad thing. I think it's in the Community Living section. Any insite on that? Please explain.
  3. Hi all, I have the opportunity to interview at Lyons VA hospital in NJ and was just wondering if anyone has any experience there, or in VA hospitals in general. I currently work for my local County government as a public health nurse but the opportunity to work for the federal government at a VA hospital is exciting. Any hints, advice, or insite would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi All, I am taking my last nursing class (Leadership) and we have to write a change paper that's due at the end of April. I'm trying to be proactive and start it now. I'm pretty much spent so coming up with an idea is tough and I have writers block. Anyway, we have to use theories of change and styles of leadership in order to analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate the change. And it has to be on an organizational problem. I was thinking of delegation and how in some facilities UAPs are underutilized. This may free up the nurses so they aren't as overwhelmed. An example that the professor provided was a "shared sheet" which one facility used to standardize the info needed to give a good shift report. Any advice or input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  5. I think the ranking system is GPA overall, GPA in both A&P 1&2, extra point if you took Micro or Chem, and then TEAS test. I think they look at math and reading (or something like that).
  6. They definitely do. A friend of mine who DIDN'T get in said she got a letter that stated that she didn't get in, why, and broke down the scoring system. Not sure what the timing was for receiving the letter after she applied though. Good luck!!
  7. bdicenzo, For what its worth, I think I read somewhere on here (Allnurses) that you can download the paper from the Lifescribe website. Definitely worth checking out and possibly saving some money!
  8. Orientation is on Friday August 24th and classes officially begin on Wednesday the 29th. I'm in New Jersey :w00t: I've already been e-mailed with the first weeks reading assignment! 7 chapters!
  9. ]WaitingInNJ, ] ]Thanks so much for your reply!! :) I was starting to get nervous. I am also a "mature" student with 2 kids and a full time job. I know it will be tuff trying to balance all of that but I am up for the challenge. I'll defininately cut my hours back and use the support of my family & friends. I have already made some great friends during my pre-reqs and we plan to help each other throughout the program. Thanks for your kind words and I look forward to speaking with you in the future.

Don't know what textbook you had but I used the My A & P Website - www.myaandp.com I think you can buy a membership for about $35 even if you don't have the text. Definitely well worth the money!! Check it out!

Is there a website affiliated with your textbook? My textbook had one and it was amazing! Power points, practice tests, slides, animations, and games! I feel that it really helped me alot. Got an "A" in the class and my professor even recommended me to be a student teacher the next semester! :yeah:
  12. Really! No one has any advice or experiences with RVCC.
  13. Hi All! I have just finished my prereqs at RVCC and plan to take the TEAS V on November 5th. I was wondering if anybody has completed or is currently enrolled in their nursing program and what you thought of it. Also, how long after you submit your application for clinicals are you notified if you're accepted or not. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!! :)
