  1. Nobody was hurt as a result of your mistakes. Hopefully, that helps somewhat. But I understand the disapointment you are feeling in yourself. You will learn from your mistakes. Making mistakes is part of what makes us human. To answer one of your questions: You prevent mistakes from happening by anticipating things that can go wrong and taking measures to prevent it from happening. also, you prevent mistakes from happening by learning from past mistakes and the mistakes of others. For example, my sister had a needlestick..yes a needle-stick[!] during her second year of nursing school. Luckily, she was fine but, boy did I learn from her when I went through nursing school!! and, it hasn't happened to her since and hopefully never ever again! don't give up! chalk it all up to being human and move forward!
  2. I would really appreciate you forwarding me the email, too, if it's not too much trouble. [email protected] thanks!

sharpeimom, I think it's funny that they're embarassed to ask for condoms each time, but not to tell their professor about this! lol..or maybe you mean over-hear, anyways doesn't matter .. yes, I too see the problem there. I know that at places like planned parenthood, people in need can take virtually all the condoms they want. I am surprised that ANY clinic would only dispense one condom at a time, that's not enough to get through one night for many people!

I'm starting soon as a School Nurse and I'm super excited, :yeah:but also anxious about what to expect. I think I'm really going to like it once I get the hang of it. Anyways, I wanted to ask the school nurses out there: how was the transition for you starting out this career? What do you think are the most important things to know when starting out?
