Who: figure out who you are (age, sex, single, married, obligations, etc.). What: what are you willing to do to succeed ? What are you willing to give up ? Where: where are you planning to go to shcool ? Some big university or a nice little community college ? Why: why do you want to do this ? Why the ER ?
  3. We were discussing it today. They are not allowed to. Because....... Someone would have to: Write an incident report. Call someone to clean up the blood. Call for orders, you will need pain meds. Arrange for a "Psych consult" (for your PTSS) Think of it this way.... it will be the only time they are NOT jammin' it in ya. "He who dances with cats, never leads." Bob You don't have to crazy to love nursing school, but it sure helped me.
  4. You may not wear them, but if you are like me...... you still have the "Holes" where they go. AIRBORNE Bob
  5. I was just looking for a little insightful info. I did get some information from the ENA home-page. Those who have answered here and by E-mail have been most helpful. I welcome your insight on the program. Thank You, Bob
  6. I wished you were working in my ED back when I was on the street. Spread the word. Retired Medic - Rambob

  8. Our Peds instructor, "Curmudgeon of the year" took off 20 point from one of my papers. :angryfire She said "We NEVER take rectal temps because fecal material holds heat."
  9. This is helpfull. The ED manager has a set and wanted to try them out. Hopefully, I'll get to be the guinea pig.

Was this ATCN also from ENA ? :imbar Just got my TNCC text yesterday. Thank You, Bob
  11. Has anyone had experience with the ENA's "Orientation to Emergency Nursing " program ? Thanks
  12. I have been trying to get the ABA to return E-mails for over two months. No luck :angryfire I have called and talked with the director of the Advanced Burn Life Support program. I got promises, no results. I was told that the entire program would be available on-line this summer and that they had a "Beta-site" up and running. There was a promise of the textbook also being available on-line. Either they are not too proud of their program or they are really having some problems. It is possible that they didn't get any of my 20 plus E-mails and forgotten the 45 minute phone call. Anyway, that's my experience with them ...... so far. Bob

I was half asleep when I posted. It made sense at the time, but reading it cold ...... Actually, I was looking toward the mountains (but she loves the beach). Low pay, long hours, unappreciated..... that's what I'm looking for. Thanks for getting back to me, Bob
