  1. Well, Before using and Kaplan Books, I studied with Lippencots, notcards from school ect... I bought this Kaplan book after the second time failing and it changed my world, how I read the question, processed it, and it actually made my question answering process a lot quicker. No other book I used had any good strategies to answering any type of question. Im from Illinois and the closest Kaplan Review Course was in Chicago and thats 4 hours from me, so I settled with The Sylvia Rayfield's Review and It sucked bad. So that is why I never reviewed with Kaplan in the first place. I just bought the book off Amazon.com I just chose the latest edition Kaplan 2004-2005 it was about 24.00 before shipping.Good Luck to you! Megan:)
  2. Im not offended Im a christian non-denom. It was a beautiful prayer,I would use it too. Obviously the pt is dead but It does make us feel better (those of christian based backgrounds) God hears all prayers and smiles when he knows his children are praying because we are acknowleging him in all situations. Pray without Ceasing!
  3. Hallelughia! Wednesday I took Nclex for third time, I was so scared honestly wasnt sure if I passed, Well guess what I did!!!!!!! The first two times I had 265 questions. I have figured out why I didnt pass, It wasnt the knowlege or content It was how I was answering the question. Friends I beg you If u are struggling or were like me, please do the KAPLAN books that is what I used and I thank God for them that is how I passed!!! Dont give up hope.....You made it through 2-4 years or more of school...The NCLEX Ill admit was hard but only b/c i didnt have the book in the first place...YOU CAN PASS!!! Take it from me...Trust me Ive been there done that! Good Luck :balloons: :balloons: Megan R.N :balloons: :balloons:
  4. Im in the exact same boat!!! Im a 2004 May grad, I took NCLEX today 12-8, this is my third time!!!! last 2 were 265 quest and I took today stopped at 75! ARRGGHH I used Kaplan for the first time this past test I find out FRI. Dont worry your score is out there waiting for u to claim it dont give up, u passed school, dont let this get u down...Let me know if u ever need to talk...
  5. OK...The first two times I took the whole 265 questions, Today I cried so hard I looked like a fool probably! It shut off at 75!!!! AHHHHH I dont have an honest positive or negative feel good or bad just shocked, I did feel happy though! I pray that I passed, just jittery right now. Anyone else been here? I find out Friday.
  6. I just found out a few minutes ago I did not pass Nclex for the second time. I had 265 questions both times... so obviously It thought I was somewhat smart. I took the Sylvia Rayfields Nclex review course that has a 98% Pass gurantee, but it actually wasnt that helpful. I sought help from our nursing administrator who is really up on this nclex stuff...but obviously it didnt help. I dont treally have test anxiety, I do fine until I get a bunch I dont know or I look around and Im the last one there. I'm SOOOO Bummed... I dont wanna put my life on hold any longer :uhoh21:
  7. Springfield....The most boring Capital in the world!
  8. Well.. I only speak of a couple years experience but, its what is in your heart. Your OB is hopefully as smart enough as most of the OB's ive workerd with. You have to trust your OB on this one. Most of the ones I know are straight up and honest about Vbacking, they want you to have a succesful and the most healthy delivery as possible. They would not let you try unless they really thought you could possibly do it! So go girl GO VBAC! GOD BLESS
  9. Im so Baffled, I took Nclex the first time in Jul and Just took it today 265 both times! I know that dosnt mean anything about jumping to conclusions, I felt better this time but there was still a lot I was unsure of. I heard a theroy that Kaplan was supposedly throwing around about the last question or sumthin.. If u know anything encouraging Holla back at me... :uhoh21:
  10. I know this is not related to the hair but in our Bereavement Packages the most awesome thing we got recently were oval blocks of clay that you can put hands and feet impressions in. They even work well on little ones down to 15 weeks!
  11. Personally I discourage powder useage because most of the people needing powder in the hospital are "Fluffy" as I like to call them or a little on the large side. They either need talcum for the bedpan or Nystatin in the valleys....Yeah its all gross to me..Just bathe 'em or get some turning help so you can align the pan properly. Powder is just a odor cover up to many and It is absolutly disgusting if it dosnt get washed off properly, it just makes more work for us all. :wink2:
  12. Just wanted to drop a note.. I worked on Labor and Delivery while I went to Nursing school and currently at the hospital I work at we DO have a Nursery for the babies to go to, along with our special care nursery. Now the staff Nurses, whether you were an LPN, RN, or BSN were crosstrained you either were a Nursery Nurse or a Labor Nurse, but when the situation arose where there were sick babies in the Spec care nursery the nurse who was originally hired to be a nursery nurse stayed in the nursery because she was quallified to care for the sick babies...You take extensive specialty courses often offered by the hospital you work for to be "qualified". I really think you should get involved in some job shadowing experiences either at your school or local hospital...call around they have summer programs too! Good Luck, God Bless!
  13. I'm sorry...What does PM you mean??? lol
  14. Congrats to you!!!!! Im now in the boat u were in, nervously awaiting my second result, I too had 265......I find out Thurs.....Im so scared..help!
