  1. I also live in Dayton, Ohio. I got my AD degree at Sinclair and now am in a Rn-BSN program at Wright State. Check into Clark Tech in Springfield because they also have a 2 year program and Miami University Middletown Branch has a 2 year program....good luck my girlfriends daughter was on the waiting list at Sinclair for 2 1/2 years.... SN
  2. Jane, Try going to the Operating Room as I did. You can only do one case at a time no matter what. They can add cases all day but you still just take care of your room and that is it. One patient at a time. I've been a nurse for 28 years and 14 years ago my floor closed and I took a position in the Operating Room and found that it is very rewarding and alot of fun. Kathy TE=rn-jane]I wish we had a nurse-patient ratio, it all depends on your staff and how many beds are open on your floor. There are at times i have 8-12 patients (nights) and they will load you with admissions as long they can find a bed, which is probally why i' m looking elsewhere for a job. Granted acuity is the proper way to go but if we had a proper nurse-patient ratio i'd would not be leaving my facility.
  3. Ut Oh, I think I might have those symptoms!!! Yikes:chuckle
  4. I have to agree. As a 50 year old RN I am now going back to school along with 3 children and it is stimulating to say the least. Kathy:uhoh3:
  5. Darlene, I have to agree with you on this one. There is a shortage in Ohio also. I am presently in a RN to BSN program and they are very short of instructors. Our instructor has a BSN and also is a Nurse Practioner and has a couple of other degrees too. She is presently trying to get her Masters degree and is writing her thesis. She was actually hired two weeks before our classes started. Kathy
