  1. I never did make it to Hawaii that dream was before the world "moved on". Some of the CAM approaches I use can be found in the March 16th episode of The Carlat Report Podcast "Top lifestyle Interventions for MDD and Bipolar". Other's include CBT-I for insomnia, SAMe for depression. Standardized lavender extract with Silexin for anxiety (both of which are RX in many parts of Europe) and NAC for skin picking disorder (and sometimes OCD although evidence is limited). Saint John's Wort for pure MDD when there are no troublesome drug interactions, B complex vitamins and methy Folate when MTHFR gene variant is an issue (in MDD), and Minocylcine when high reactivity CRP is elevated in resistant MDD>
  2. I would argue that characterizing the sincerely held opinions of others presented with information that they (in this case me) consider to be highly informative (albeit not definitive, but one worthwhile perspective) is the more negative behavior. Civil discussion boards should feature a wide range of opinions which will often be quite diverse, opposing, and which some may consider misinformation. I attempt to offer a different perspective that I am living in my own life. I do not ask that you agree, or even respect me. However, dispensing with names or labels is desirable. (MODERATOR EDIT)
  3. How can you hold such a position and still support people like Dr. Fauci who actually participated in the funding of "gain of function" research which likely made this virus possible? My position is simple: a. Vaccines have risks and benefits. b. For some people the benefits out weight the risks for others risks may out weight the benefits. c. Young people are at less risk from dying from Covid than older people. d. Most evidence also suggests that those without symptoms are unlikely to transmit Covid. e. Younger people who have been previously infected with Covid 19 may be at even less risk of reinfection than those who get the vaccine (but have not been infected). Therefore the risks associated with the vaccine are a higher consideration. f. Even the FDA/CDC is sufficiently concerned about adverse myocarditis events that they are calling for an emergency meeting. g. VAERS has had more reports of "adverse events" from these Covid vaccine(s)" than every other vaccine combined even if you look at a total of five years (in about six months for the Covid vaccine). While VAERS is not definitive it is a "signal" of the level of adverse events in spite of analysis that suggest that only 1% of actual events ever get reported to VAERS. 10. Workers at places like Methodist in Houston are suing against these mandated vaccines. (MODERATOR EDIT) How is it that I can both believe that you are profoundly incorrect (in your beliefs about mandatory vaccination) and at the same time wish you only love and success in your every endeavor and life (except in moving society towards totalitarian control) while you seem to harbor such animosity towards me ? In the end your hate will only hurt you and tend to rot you from the inside if indeed you actually harbor such feelings and it isn't rhetoric as I hope it is. Peaceful and loving debate where different ideas are exchanged is superior to "name calling".
  4. For some most definitely (those over 70 with comorbid conditions) for those younger than say 30 the risk to benefit ratio becomes much more difficult to ascertain. If we also consider "antibody" status from previous Covid 19 infection then the risk to benefit balance become even more difficult especially given developing information on the risks of these vaccines. Recent research from the Cleveland Clinic underlines this point when people have been previously infected and have antibodies. https://www.news-medical.net/news/20210608/No-point-vaccinating-those-whoe28099ve-had-COVID-19-Findings-of-Cleveland-Clinic-study.aspx
  5. It can. Montreal came pretty darn close to leaving Canada yet most would still say they love Canada. Scotland toyed with leaving the UK. So long as Republicans keep the filibuster and can avoid an "expanded" Supreme Court I suspect that we will remain united. However, if those "dominoes" fell then all bets would probably be off. Here is a recent article that discusses the concept https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/politics/article/california-secession . Also the CDC releases concerns about Myocarditis in 18 to 24 year old people getting second vaccine dosages. Vaccines have risks and benefits and where the risks are lower with regard to the Virus (younger people) the relative risk of adverse vaccine side effects increases https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/10/covid-vaccine-CDC-says-heart-inflammation-cases-in-16-to-24-year-olds-higher-than-expected-after-second-shot.html .
  6. We can quibble whether or not Trump was positive or negative for immigration and US reputation. What we cannot argue with is that he is no longer President (although he could end up as House Speaker in 2021 if the Republicans retake the House) However, over the "broad" course of history more people have sought to come here than any nation on Earth. Not only that virtually no other nation "welcomes" people who move in to our borders even when they do so in a manner that violates the law to the degree that we do (again both good and bad points here). Not only that "we" (The United States) will be essentially taking private property (Vaccine patents from major pharm companies) and "giving" them to the world for free (again both good and bad points for doing this but it will be done all the same). There are plenty of reasons to both love and hate this nation, but I would encourage people to focus more on the ones to love it.
  7. Because this : Thanks for proving my point. As strange as it may seem there are 194 other countries than the US. America is one of the last countries in the world I'd want to immigrate to. Collleages don't want to work in the US because they cant comprehend working in a system where healthcare is based on being able to pay rather than a basic human right and other comments seemed to be a direct assault upon not only the greatest country that exists (in my opinion) but indeed the greatest nation ever to exist. One which has single handedly (along with doing some very bad things) done more to bring vaccines, stand against evil, and liberate human beings from abject poverty than any other nation in the history of civilization. No doubt you may have a different perspective and this is one of the places in the world where such diverse opinions are welcome. You can insult this nation, and it's people and we will still no doubt welcome you and send you millions, and billions in vaccines and other assistance. You are welcome.
  8. According to Gallup it's not even close more people express a desire to move to the United States than any other nation in the World (and the dates reflect when Trump was President). https://news.gallup.com/poll/245255/750-million-worldwide-migrate.aspx .
  9. The blog links to the VAERS database. They have "added" the numbers but all the data is from VAERS. Which part of their conclusions do you question? As for determining causality my point is that there is no "signature" other than perhaps witnessed shock after getting a shot that would rise to the level of a post Covid death being termed that. Look, I am tired from these discussions and it is frankly affecting my charting (my SO pointed out that I've gotten even further behind in my charting than is common for me) and my ability to effectively care for my clients. I am going to defer to consensus for now watch and wait and see what happens as more data emerges. Odds are I will end up taking the vaccines whether I want to or not as I am a small "cog" in a giant machine and cannot really afford to fight much of anything.
  10. Many of the deaths (most) reported in VAERS were not even from the AstraZenica vaccine making your link less relevant. Also, many of the deaths did not involve blood clots. Okay, from your perspective what would be the standard for saying that a death after vaccination reported to VAERS indeed was associated with the vaccine? What test, finding would lead you to conclude this?
  11. I am relying on the VAERS database from the CDC of deaths associated with the Covid vaccination https://blogfactory.co.uk/2021/06/01/CDC-death-toll-following-experimental-covid-injections-now-at-4863-more-than-23-previous-years-of-recorded-vaccine-deaths-according-to-vaers/ Of course some/many/most of these no doubt occurred due to reasons other than the Covid vaccine just as many of the deaths from Covid infection (such as hospice patients whom I cared for who died of Covid) were caused by other factors.
  12. PubMed is good too, but many of the studies lack full text or contextual analysis. You will not for example find a "Pub Med" analysis of the VAERS data as it relates to Covid (maybe in two years) after the debate is no longer "ripe".
  13. Sources should not be "dismissed" because they are "right or left" especially when they quote "their" source material. In the case of the article I linked it discusses VAERS and the data that they write about in the article can be easily verified. You may disagree with their interpretation, but there is scarcely room to call in less than accurate since one only need reference the VAERS/CDC database. Thus, for example for those of you who maintain that "not a single" death of the thousands reported in VAERS after the vaccination is related to the vaccine my question would be by what "standard" would you be willing to attribute a death after the vaccine to the vaccine? Which test or finding would reach a level that you are willing to say "that" person definitively died from the vaccine? Again, with the virus people that I cared for in the ICU with advanced cancer (who also happened to have Covid) and perished were in fact counted as "Covid deaths". Why in your opinion was it "okay" to count these as "Covid deaths" and at the same time not count those who die say within a few weeks or months after the vaccines as usually or at least often "vaccine related"?
  14. At the risk of being off topic it was not my intention to allege that your rights were "inferior" but rather that they were different and that the legal precedents that guide their protection and enforcement are also very different. This is the case even between say the UK and Ireland or other EU nations. Thus, for example in Canada even to read certain sections of the Bible in public could be legally designated as "hate speech" under prevailing law (often for anti LGBTQ references) in other jurisdictions in the United States this would be considered "protected" speech in the same context. Not only do I welcome your "Grumpy" assessments I treasure them. Your perspectives are unique and valued (at least by me) and the world would be a far dimmer place if they were not shared in my opinion.
  15. There is no problem with my "logical thinking". I also read a variety of sources ranging from Revolver and Naturalnews.com on the right to Huffington Post and Democratic underground on the right to www.realclearscience in the middle. You question "our logic" (call us the Covid Vaccine cautious) we question the veracity of sources that consistently look the other way at adverse events and have even changed the very methodology of how they will count positive Covid cases (as the CDC announced they will start doing about a week ago when they revealed they will use a different standard which will effectively undercount Covid cases in the vaccinated) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-9566619/CDC-stopped-counting-breakthrough-Covid-infection-fully-vaccinated-people.html . This is reminiscent of a few months ago when mainstream sources such as facebook, Twiitter and Youtube took down all media and posts claiming that Covid may have had a non "natural" origin which has now become mainstream. So long as the mainstream plays "bait and switch" on methodology and what they allow to be discussed it should be treated with deep skepticism.
  16. Also, I care for more than 700 clients seeing me for various challenges of a psychological nature. Were I to question their "emotional health" in a public venue it would be considered at best poor taste and in many circles downright "hate speech". How about we stick to debating the topics rather than personal attacks?
  17. I would of course allege that most so called "mainstream sources" such as MSNBC, CNN and NPR are left of center with sourcing that is equally bias. When "one side" controls the "fact checking" business it gets the distinction of defining reality. My job here is not to serve the dominant mainstream but to speak for the masses who resist mandatory vaccination or face loss of our jobs, our ability to go to school and generally function in society.
  18. I am pointing out that vaccines have "benefits and risks". The VAERS database records many adverse reactions (including deaths) and has been incredulously "dismissed" by experts that I believe to be operating with bias I appreciate the benefits of vaccines, but ask that you also acknowledge the intrinsic risks and respect the right of professionals to decline the vaccine(s) and still keep their jobs especially while it remains emergency use. Also allowing the ability to show antibodies to Covid in lieu of vaccination seems reasonable.
  19. My emotional health is optimal and it is the ability to make our own decisions about vaccinations without fear of job loss or other discrimination that I am striving so hard to maintain. I have had at least three private messages on this board thanking me for making a point that they "fear" making in that sense I speak for others too afraid to "speak their mind" on this issue. Many here would advocate policies that would remove our ability to work as RN's and obtain education unless we submit to vaccinations that we wish not to partake in at this time especially given that we have already had Covid. Also, the graph that you displayed is so small that I cannot even read the second country referenced only the UK.
  20. If those statistics are indeed accurate then it probably implies (given the high number of deaths reported to VAERS a passive surveillance system that likely undercounts adverse events) that more people in those nations are dying of the vaccines than the virus and yet so many approve of mandating it for healthcare workers https://www.revolver.news/2021/06/revolver-part-one-covid-vaers-deaths-cover-up/ . Indeed at least in the case of this incident/child there is evidence of deliberate removal of an adverse event from VAERS involving a child's death https://greatgameindia.com/CDC-removes-vaers-entry/ At least RN's and other's forced to take these vaccines on pain of job loss may be eligible to recover under the Vaccine Injury Compensation Fund https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/16/covid-vaccine-side-effects-compensation-lawsuit.html however all claims must be filed within a year and accurate reporting to VAERS is an important first step making VAERS reporting all the more important.
  21. Well this perspective from The Hill presents it more as a Red/Blue divide https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/554005-state-vaccine-rates-fall-along-red-blue-divide . Also, in having dinner last week with several coworkers from the old HCA where I worked I learned that while some employees are vaccinating many are not and that HCA Florida has no plans to require them. Note I am in the unusual position of defending HCA which I have in the past stated I would dedicate my life to taking down "brick by brick" if necessary. Still on this issue I am grateful they seem to be standing up for employees rights to decline these vaccines especially while they are emergency use. Also. our Governor indicates he will block cruise ships from requiring proof of vaccinations https://www.sun-sentinel.com/business/fl-bz-silversea-cruises-to-require-vaccinations-20210412-7ok6fwabpndc5aop6oyla5tgvq-story.html . I do not believe that he can fail to keep this promise and still remain a viable Presidential candidate in 2020 for the Republicans. Out of the 30 or so guys that I graduated from high school with in Indiana maybe 5 have vaccinated and the rest feel strongly on this issue and would never support him if he caved on this issue.
  22. Again we have different perspectives. I so a group of "mostly peaceful protestors" some of whom entered the capital grounds (by some accounts some were invited in) and others who behaved like hoodlums and one which was shot by a police officer who still remains unidentified. We also see the government holding on to hundreds (thousands) of hours of video footage (why?). As a conservative Republican I wish they would investigate it as I believe that a fair hearing would show it being used as a "Reichstag fire" like event as pretext to further encroach upon our civil liberties in the same way that Bush Jr used 911 as a pretext to spy upon us further and encroach upon civil rights (with things like detention without warrants and illegal infiltrations into mosques). Again, we have different perspectives and that it okay. I should be able to make my arguments (on facebook an elsewhere) and you should be able to say "look you foolish baffoon" and shoot down my arguments if you believe them to be lacking. That is the way things are done in a free society.
  23. The things I brought up were in "defense" of anti gun posts or other points. At no time have I ever said anything that I do not sincerely believe or feel and have never done so with the intention of hurting anyone's feelings. My own SO begs me daily to not post things that "could hurt my career", but she understands that standing up for what I believe is fundamental for me (and indeed what I post here is pretty much how I talked in person when I worked ICU). I advocate for what I believe to the best of my ability. If not me then who? Who else will stand up (at least on this forum) for the 30% plus of health care workers concerned about taking a vaccine that we feel is unproven? Who else will make the case that adverse events as reported in VAERS are a serious matter? Who else would have advocated that Covid had a "likely" lab leak origin rather than natural (I go further and allege is was at least a gain of function creation if not deliberately engineered)? If you just want the same unchallenged opinions "passed around the table" then you are unlikely to convince many. Most of the remaining people who are "vaccine hesitant" feel much as I do and if there isn't discussion how do you hope to ever make progress (and the number is closer to 40 to 45% out side of health care). If you just call us "all trolls" and advocate censorship then we will all just end up only talking to people who agree with us and live in a world of our own confirmation biases foresever. Also our Gov has announced he will fine any cruise line to the tune of thousands per passenger if they try to apply vaccine passports in Florida https://www.newsweek.com/gov-ron-desantis-says-florida-won't-waver-fining-cruise-lines-over-passenger-vaccination-1596146 . Also most Florida hospitals such as HCA do not require Covid vaccination.
