  1. For those with A & P classes... This will be helpful easyanp.WordPress.com
  2. when you start the program, you have to be organized, very organized... and not rely on your classmates.
  3. Good luck everyone.
  4. i'm on my 4th semester, if you have any questions feel free to ask
  5. yup, its not discrimination. Just plain stupidity of that nurse.
  6. Post the Question here. I have a Bachelor's in engineering and have more than 30 units of pure math. Dose calc is like a joke. Just plain addition/multiplication/division.
  7. Shes probably ugly. Half of the girls in my class are hot. If I was single and any of those hot girls approaches me..i'll be like..SURE WHY NOT? If we break up before graduating..I think I can handle that.
  8. Is she pretty and hot? if not then yah good riddance..
  9. congrats!!! you are not old... im gonna be 34 in 2 weeks
  10. only male student in the whole school?!!!! AWESOME!!!
  11. I don't think my being male had any factor in me getting accepted in nursing school. its all about the test scores and other requirements.
  12. the scrubs i ordered from school is size L (female size). But the shirt came out too big for me. So i went to a scrubs store and bought the same design and color scrub shirts for $10 each (Dickies brand), Dickies size M (female size) fits me well, my waist is 36 and chest is 40 so im guessing size S will fit you. The school scrubs have the school logo on the left chest but nobody notices that my Dickies scrub didn't have the logo. :)
  13. You can read some of my comments above. Right now I can't tell yet if I like the program since i'm just in my 1st semester, but I got to talk to some 5th semester people, one with a BS in engineering like me and another one with a BS Bio from ucsd, they seem to like it, so I'll probably like it too. :)
  14. well if thats the case, then take advantage
  15. prereq (G.E.) classes are scheduled monday to thursday as early as 7am and could be as late as 6pm. LVN to RN students have their transition classes on Fridays.
  16. almost done with the first semester, so far its been fun for me. lecture classes are a piece of cake and I've never been surrounded by so many beautiful women until nursing school. too bad im married though
  17. Hi Tritons09, I just started the program last September. I have a BS degree and no medical experience whatsoever. I'm taking all GEs since my courses were too old to transfer. All I can say about the classes for now is that they're too easy, even A&P I and Math. But yeah, I'm not expecting the nursing classes to be as easy but I'm ready for it. I've talked to one recent Kaplan graduate who got a job out of state. I also have a classmate now who's wife graduated last semester and got a job right away in one of the hospitals in SD. My cousin is a nurse manager in one of the biggest hospitals in SD, and she told me that they like Kaplan students a lot because they do pretty well in clinicals and it doesn't matter where you get your degree as long as you have your RN license and do good during interviews. As for the ridiculous $54K price tag, if you do the math, its not really that difficult to pay. And of course you know you can delay paying it until after you find a job. As for the hours, Im at school Monday/Wednesday from 8am to 2 pm, Tuesday from 12:30 -5:30 and Thursday 12:30-2, no classes on Fridays. My clinicals won't start until the last month of my 2nd semester which is April next year. If you have most of the GE credits then maybe you can take your "fundies" on your 1st sem , the reps will not tell you this. I have a classmate who only have two classes this semester because her rep didn't tell her she can already take her "fundies". BTW, I study every night and weekends in the Geisel Library of UCSD (I'm actually in the Geisel library right now working on my a&P study guide). My wife works in the school of engineering and we live 3 miles from the campus. UCSD's library is so much better than Kaplan's feel free to ask anymore questions that you have. :)
