Texas Wesleyan CRNA 2017
Good Luck to those interviewing this week. I did not bring any resumes with me, they already know who you are, and the guy who led my interview had my resume in his hand I believe. Either way, it definitely won't hurt to bring few copies. I bought a leather folder with couple of blank pages and a page full of questions I need to ask them.

Texas Wesleyan CRNA 2017
Interviewed at Mobile site yesterday, went very well...no pressure, lots of clinical question which I didn't knew atleast 10-15%, just be honest and say I don't know the answer instead of digging urself a hole by guessing. Was interviewed by I think 8 people including 2 current SRNAs. Everyone was very humorous, joking around and lots of laughs, casual conversations with clinical questions thrown in randomly. I didn't realize I was in there for about an hour. Long story short, got a call at 1700 yesterday from their clinical director that I have been accepted. Beyond excited!!!

To reiterate, I was told that DFW sites are full, rest of TX interviews in January but the spots for rest of TX aren't too many and I don't wanna wait till Jan so I went ahead and agreed for the Mobile site. Strictly no site changes are permitted later. My Stats are Level-1 Trauma SICU experience 4 years by the time I start, GRE 313, RN-BSN 3.72, Engineering Bachelors 3.70, ADN 3.6 and sciences all A's...CCRN, CRRT.

Hello Guys, I applied around mid Oct, and called immediately the next day. Was told all the DFW sites are gone and if I can eater chose to be interviewed in Nov for Mobile or wait till January for other TX sites. I chose to be interviewed in Nov coz I cant live in the anxiety till Jan....will be tough to live 16 months in Mobile though, was hoping to get any DFW spots

Parkland Fall 2013 Residency
Guys, sorry to hear that...I know the feeling firsthand Keep your spirits up, there are MICU, NeonatalICU, and Burn ICU resident postings still active on parkland's website, and very good luck with ER interviews. Tips....personally I have never prepared so hard for an interview like this one, coz of a disappointing recent rejection from another ICU position that wud have been 120 miles drive for me per day anyway I had all the basic answers on tips like strengths, weaknesses, few scenarios, hardest pt. from past experience, why parkland, why SICU, future plans, etc. This was also very helpful: index read the "bedside emergencies" for frequent scenarios. I own this in printed version and read it frequently to brush up. Any way I cud help, pls let me know. Good luck again!

Parkland Fall 2013 Residency
Nana and Judy, I received the SICU congrats email, and then few minutes later got the same Med surge rejection email. I then called the recruiter, and she confirmed my SICU acceptance. So I would say, dont worry about the Medsurg email...just hang in there and wait for SICU recruiters email. She stated that she was super busy today with all the interviews when I spoke to her this a.m.

Thanks for the response Jenny, regarding the BSN as a filtration criteria, that I understand, and thats the reason i enrolled in RN-BSN at UTA, and am now only 4-5 prerequisites away from graduating. I do have Critical care experience back from 2008-09, not recent though

DFW Internships 2013
was wondering if anyone has info on which hospitals require a BSN for any critical care internships? I wud be done with RN-BSN courses in may but still have few prerequisites like texas history etc which wud prevent me from "formally" graduating in May Also, wud any hospitals consider my case as an equivalent to BSN? Any help appreciated!

Is there a JOB i can get after being reported to GROUP ONE in TX..black listed :(
Wow...this is really unfortunate, I am so sorry , hope you stay strong!! I would say apply for a work from job, I know Medassurant is reputed auditing company that pays very good, some travelling only local and most of teh work is season, so dont expect 40hrs/week, but still enough until you keep looking at places described above. go to medassurant.com, and apply/talk to their HR. It being a national company, I am pretty sure they dont use Group one. Good luck and God speed!

Confused...wat can i do to get a Job?

Confused...wat can i do to get a Job?
Hey all, Been reading thru a few threads, realizing how bad the job market is in Dallas/DFW area. would appreciate some advise. A little bit of background: Graduated in may 2008 --> got an internship with a Magnet hospital in PA for critical care, worked there for 8-9 months --> had to put my wife thru grad school, got another job offer paying 1.5 times to work as an auditor for insurance companies --> quit ICU job (still regret that decision, but was cash strapped )-->been working at a desk job since that time as a RN but no direct pt. contact, also RN in army reserves for last 1.5 yr--> wife completed gard school, got a decent job in DFW, and now I want to get back in ICU.......just have a ADN though:crying2: 1. Would I qualify for new grad internships, I have been a RN for 3 yrs, but no hands on experience with pts for last 2?? 2. Would my "not so valuable" experience count as experience at all? 3. Do I have any chance of getting a ICU job without going for RN-BSN route? Would love to hear any and all idea.
