I work on a tele floor and have never had to use an otoscope. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but unless you specialize or work at a doctor's office you will never use one.
I think this is said to every nursing student starting out. My professor said it to my class. In reality, nursing school has not been that bad thus far.
First semester I worked about 36 hrs a week, second semester about 27 hrs a week, and now I am starting my third semester and I plan on working 16 hrs a week. So far I have done very well in my classes, but I hear the third semester is a beast.
I personally don't do well in a study group. They have always turned into a gab session and were not productive. I am in nursing school to become a nurse, not make friends; as harsh as that may seem it works for me. I start my third semester this fal...
I may be one of the select few, but a study group does not work for me. Anytime I have attempted to study with a study group it always turned into a gab session. Also, I recall a time when I was doing nclex study questions with a group and another st...
I am the same way. The nursing instructors scared the crap out of me in my first semester saying "You must read or you will fail!!!". So, I read for the first exam and boy was it a waste of time. After that exam I just took notes in class and read my...

In my area and many others (according to many posts on this website) the job market isn't as hoppin' as it use to be. The poster clearly stated she was interested in working in a pain management clinic. If the interview goes well and it is a reputabl...

For me, what makes doing a care plan so long is writing up all of the meds. Names, side effects, classes, route, dose, frequency, pharmological action. At my school our care plans consist of an assessment tool for each system then we have to write up...
So, one of my professors just posted some optional review material to prepare us for next semester. I have done a couple of the assignments. So far, I have came across a couple questions that I am unsure about. If anyone can help a fellow nursing stu...
It is completely normal. I am going into my 3rd semester and I am excited yet scared. I want to be a nurse so badly, yet I hear horror stories of people failing. It scares me even though I got a 92 in semester I and a 93 in semester II. But that fear...

Take your time. Read each question carefully. Remember Maslow, ABCS, and ADPIE; these will help significantly if you are debating between 2 "right" answers. Good luck :)
I start the third semester of my ADN program September 4th. I am beyond excited. I love nursing school and can't wait to get into the more intense material this upcoming semester.
Honestly, I love nursing school. I am in an ADN program and I start my third level in the fall. I enjoy going to lecture, I love clinical, and am one of those freaky people who likes to study and learn new information. I get really excited doing NCLE...
nope, i bought a brand new copy from amazon. i did use the cd and as i stated i did not like the questions. i thought they were more knowledge based (straight forward questions with straight forward answers) compared to other review books out there. ...
I love, love Saunder's Comprehensive review for the information. As far as practice questions, after seeing and using many other review books I feel it is lacking. Only about 10-15 questions per chapter and in my opinion are more knowledge based than...
October. My nurse manager said start applying for jobs two months prior to graduation. Then if hired the Nclex has to be taken within 60 days, after graduation (at my hospital).
Yes. My micro teacher dropped two tests and made an "A" an 85%. She curved big time. I still earned an "A" anyway and am doing well in the nursing program. I start level three in the fall.
