  1. EBL = estimated blood loss PPH = post partum hemorrhage our docs do that all the time...... I was in a c section where they soaked about 45 laps and called the EBL 300mL.....the suction canister had about 800 mL in it! (i know that some of the fluid in the canister was irrigation fluid and amniotic fluid but patient was being sectioned for fetal intolerance to labor due to oligo)..... Hmmmmmm......
  2. All depends on the state but.... I'm in Georgia.....I got my license in the mail 10 days from my test date.....(took test on 6/21, got results from PearsonVue exactly 48 hrs later on 6/23, I showed up on the states website on 6/29 and got my license in the mail on 7/1)
  3. I used this tool before I took the NCLEX last week and it was giving me anywhere from a 94% to 99% chance of passing....and I PASSED on my first try with 75 questions! I think it was a good tool for me just to build my confidence and to have the test "shut off" at different numbers of questions (anywhere from 75 to 88 for me)......I used Saunders and NCLEX 3500 to actually get the rationales for the questions.....but the Mosby CAT gave me practice for the actual NCLEX. I also felt that Saunders and NCLEX 3500 had much "harder" questions than the actual NCLEX gave me.....but that was just my experience. GOOD LUCK to all of you waiting to take the exam!
  4. Just an update.......checked on the GA Secretary of State website today and I HAVE A LICENSE NUMBER!!! WOO HOO!!!!! So 8 days from test date my license is active!!!!!!!! L&D here I come!!!!!!! Guess I need to change my screen name from "BEANURSE" to "AMANURSE"!!!!! I am sooooooo excited!!!!
  5. I start in a few weeks in L&D.....I will have 4 weeks on day shift and 4 weeks on evening shift (the shift that I will be working when orientation is done)....after that 8 weeks my supervisor told me that we would sit down and determine if she and I think that I am ready or if I need a few more weeks.....So, mine will be 8 possibly 10 weeks......after orientation I will start on my shift and will have a resource person assigned to me just in case I need to ask a question but for the most part will be solo! (I have been working on this unit for a little over a year as the unit secretary so I am familiar with the hospital and the unit)
  6. 1. 75 questions - took me about 45-50 minutes. 2. Saunders, NCLEX 3500, online Mosby CAT 3. ERI - had to pass the ERIs each semester at national average to advance - then did the 4 day review that ERI offered. 4. EXACTLY 48 hours.....I PASSED!! 5. VERY confident that I had passed. I felt that it was very easy compaired to the tests I took in school.....As time went on waiting for the 48 hours to be up I began to doubt myself thinking that maybe I thought it was easy because I had gotten easy questions and BOMBED it! 6. YES first attempt! Labor and Delivery here I come! I start orientation in a few weeks! GOOD LUCK to everyone taking it in the future and the ones waiting on results! The wait for the results was way worse than the stress before taking the test for me! Hang in there!
  7. Yes! it is a HUGE relief to just know that I passed but will be even better when I see my name as a "Registered Professional Nurse"......I will be watching for mine tomorrow or the next day! CONGRATULATIONS to you!!!!!! :balloons: :balloons: It was a long hard road but we did it!!!!
  8. I just posted this exact thread and then realized that it was already started so I deleted my post! I can't wait to see my name on the states website.....I took the test last Wednesday (6/21) and found out Friday that I passed! WOO HOO!!! Now just waiting to see my name on the states website.....tomorrow will be 7 days from my test date so maybe tomorrow! I will keep you guys posted as to how long it takes!
  9. My experience......I graduated from GPC in May.....I took the NCLEX last Wednesday and mine shut off at 75 questions.....It took me about 45-50 minutes to answer the 75 questions..... I found out Friday that..... I PASSED!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!! I am now an RN!!!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
  10. I am right here with you!!!! I take my test on Wednesday (6/21)! I have done soooooo many questions that I think I will go out of my mind. I am having to travel out of state to take my test (live in GA, going to TN...having to go to TN so I would not have to wait until the end of July when appts were avail. in GA to take it!!!!) so I am leaving tomorrow morning.....so after today, no more studying for me! GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOMORROW!!! I will be sending out good vibes!!!!! Let us know how you do! I will be coming back from TN on Friday so hopefully my results will be posted by the time I get back!!!! WOO HOO!!! I CAN NOT WAIT TO GET THIS BEHIND ME!!!!!
  11. yea....I have been checking there also and still nothing! UGH!! Hopefully they will have them in soon!
  12. thanks for the info Boe! We have all payed on Pearson Vue and are all ready to go....we are just waiting for the school to get our transcripts and mail them......so the state can contact Pearson vue that we are eligible to test! Thanks for the heads up that we needed to register first!
  13. From what I am hearing.....the problem with GPC is that our applications have not even been mailed yet!!! ERRRRRRRR!!!!!!:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire (our school has us turn in our apps to them and then THEY get our transcripts and they mail them......they are just taking their sweet A** time!!!!) Yet another reason.......(you know what I'm saying) (sorry...its late and I love these little smilies!)
  14. So, are you working on your pre-reqs at GPC for nursing school or are you already in Nursing school at GPC?
  15. i do not want to sound negative or anything but the vast majority of people in this program are "older".....and that does not seem to help them. many many many many many many many (okay i guess you all get my drift) of the people that have failed out of this program were "older and knew that nursing is really what they wanted to do".....just a word of caution...like i said i am not trying to be negative......sorry if it comes off that way!
