  1. I got a personal call from the clinical supervisor and she said HR would be discussing that with me. (pay and date when it starts, etc) and yes ER. Thanks!
  2. I got a call today from one of the clinical educators letting me know I got the position. Hope you guys hear back soon!
  3. i would just call and tell them you have other job offers and would like an update on your application! that way youre not left wondering!
  4. I actually was able to shadow and just made myself known by the clinical supervisors and they contacted HR to have them set up an interview. But I applied back in mid November. I do know that they were interviewing last week.
  5. I haven't yet, but I have an interview in their ER Friday. Did you apply?
  6. Hi everyone, Has anyone applied/heard back from nurse recruitment in regards to any of the positions posted on GW? Thanks!
  7. Grey ladyI was reviewing the posts and noticed you said you make calls to all the shady grove students. I selected sg campus...but I never got a call from you. I'm worried I made a mistake! Has this ever happened?
  8. I had to wait over a month to find out I was waitlisted. Just hang in there.
  9. Has anyone else not received their letter?
  10. @sandiego. I believe it may be based on GPA upon other things. However if you were accepted for that they did say something about it in the phone call you got. As we wait we should introduce ourselves! My name is Celina. I'm 19 and I applied to the shady grove campus. I'm really excited to start at umson. I haven't gotten my letter in the mail, but I can't wait to know the date for orientation. Can't wait to meet all of you!
  11. @noshills, i noticed we were both waitlisted last semester and yay we got in! lol, where did you apply?
  12. @sandiego i am not sure if it is too late, but there is the workforce shortage grant on maryland higher education website, and there are some scholarships which you are considered for when you apply to umson such as the merit scholarship offered.
  13. Exactly blacksapphire basically rejections and first acceptances go out. Based on the acceptances waitlisting or more acceptances go out. This is what I'm getting based on my experience last semester
  14. I was waitlisted for fall2012 and accepted for mc in that semester. Md accepted me for the spring so I'm going to go ahead and start new there for my bachelors
  15. Chelsea,Most people will probably not give that info because Maryland really looks at the whole individual. GPAs of accepted people that I know, myself included range from 3.2 to 4.0. I was most worried about the teas, but I felt my essay was the deciding factor. They read hundreds so its great advice to remember to individualize yourself from others. Don't be afraid to sound humble and make your flaws work for you. Good luck (:
  16. Ames,To your previous question, last year I was waitlisted. And I'm not sure about this but I believe they send out rejections and 1st round acceptances first. Then 2nd round acceptances and waitlists. I had to wait about a month to find out I was waitlisted because they were waiting to see if a slot opened from the initial 2 rounds of accepted students to see who didn't want a spot. Once you get accepted you have two weeks to reserve your spot. So don't give up hope!
  17. Congratulations! Which campus did you apply too?
  18. I like the program. It seems unorganized at first but you'll settle in. The testing is something to get used to and it may seem like common sense at first but regardless the reading is required. It isn't too hard but it's a new way of life so it's something to get used too. Workload isn't too bad but exams seem frequent. Please let your peers know or yourself if interested I will be selling books and a whole unused uniform.
  19. Clinically are offered Tuesday through Friday. Nu110 lecture is Monday. When you come in to register it is a lottery system. You will pick a number and depending on that number you get to pick your schedule. There are apprx 100 students so numbers 1-50 are normally okay. And you will get your choices. After that you have to settle for what's available. There are 8 spots per clinical group.
  20. oh and NU110 is held Mondays
  21. For our semester we had the choice of having NU110 lecture from 8-1150 or 3-650, then NU 105 could be at 1-150 or 2-250. NU 121 is offered at various times from M-F and it lasts apprx. 3 hours. Clinical is a full day and you would not be able to take NU 121 that same day. Hopefully that helps clarify some.
  22. You don't need to have insurance, but you must sign a waiver verifying that the school is not liable for any costs.
  23. It can be 2 days, or it can be three. Lecture for 110 and 105 were held the same day for my group. Clinical was the other day. 121 you can take on the same day as 110 and 105 if your schedule permits. Or you can take it on another day, making your schedule 3 days.
  24. Hi everyone! I got accepted for the Spring 2013 BSN program and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how much books/uniforms are? And an idea of the workload exams/papers? I also heard Maryland doesn't do clinicals at all first year, true or false? Thanks!
  25. I also have a lab coat in small with the badge sewn in, 2 scrub tops size 12- I'm normally a size 8, but they want them to be extra loose. I only wore one. And I have 2 scrub bottoms size M. The stethoscope I have is a black "nurses choice brand", it has some engraving barely noticeable. Also which I am selling. Again just contact me via PM. If you buy all, I give you a great deal.
