I also have the majority of my items done, including Hep B, Vaccines, flu....and a walk in for my appt for bloodwork at my doctors. Most offices won't charge a copay because you may only need the nurse to do labs and paperwork. My physical is up to date so I don't need that. I have the CPR because I'm a PCT locally. Very excited and nervous like all of you. I can't believe we start in January!

Montgomery College Spring 2013 Applicants
Hi! It's nice meeting you! Did you apply for the first deadline? I know they extended it to Sept 21st now. I don't know if that is good or bad for us?! I am doing ok waiting but it's frustrating because they told me November but Fall posts showed October. Have you heard anything? A gf that is in the program now she said we'll hear mid October. I also heard the class this term is only in the 60's with no drops yet. A little background on me, I left my 'corporate' job in patient education 2 years ago to pursue my 3rd degree in nursing. It has always been my dream but it happened on its own path. How about you? Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com

Marymount University Fall Cohort 2012
I have both an undergrad BA and MA in Corporate and Public Communication, all jobs I have had all being in health care with the most recent one working for GSK, the pharmaceutical company marketing Oncology patient education. I have worked the past 2 years at a local Johns Hopkins affiliated hospital as a patient care tech, and had stellar recommendations and beautiful essay. There is not much more I could do and was happy with everything I submitted. I can tell you that to say it was my academic record is not competitive enough is a slap in the face. I had one B as a Masters student and undergrad was in 2003! I would think my recent sciences would prove that to them. I also addressed it in my essay. Tabby, sorry for the rant...I wish you all the best! Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com

Marymount University Fall Cohort 2012
SU is too far but Maryland has been my #1 choice. I applied to MU on a whim but will npt be applying to them in the future. Ill be able to start nursing school Spring 2013 as originally planned. MD has a great program and is close by which is also a concern as I care for my mom. MU definitely missed out on one of the best candidates...the nursing influx has caused the "best" future nurses missed opportunities. Its a wonder people still arr accepted with 2-3 major sciences courses in progress when I completed all but 1 in progress with on 1 B out of all 4!

Marymount University Fall Cohort 2012
Hi Everyone! I am sad to say that a few days ago I received a rejection letter...much to my surprise. I am sad because I wont have the chance to meet each of you. But I know we will see each other around in a hospital one day. I will get in somewhere very very soon! Good luck!

Marymount for ASBN - Fall 2012?
Hi Tabby, Yes, I sent everything in a packet to ensure no delays. It was sent on Feb 27 and received the 28th. I was waived the TEAS too and a letter confirming all materials were received and my application was complete. My transcripts were all official and included in my packet as well. So everything was in way ahead of second review. Hopefully I'll hear something today!

Marymount University Fall Cohort 2012
I live in Silver Spring, MD about an hour via metro and 45 minutes by car. I will take the red line to metro center then transfer to thel ballston line too for commuting. Then I'll take the shuttle. Some days I have great feelings about getting in but day's like today when everyone is getting letters is REALLY nerve racking. But I have faith...I work in a hospital and been in school since starting this journey 2 years ago, when I quit my job in NJ and moved home to finish what I started in undergrad. I have a BA and MA in communication and worked in pharma pt education. I am now a CNA in Oncology/Cardiology PRN. I am finishing up my last course Chemistry and Nutrition, but is not needed at MU. But I really like it so definitely going to be beneficial as a nurse.I thought your post was in 2010, that's why I asked...definitely a good plan to postpone entrance till now! I also did the same thing more recently taking off a semester caring or my mom who's been waiting for a lung transplant. She is doing well but it even more solidified my nursing career. I really want to get in and get to know you more! Keep in touch and I'll definitely update you whichever way the cards go!
