  1. The most important part is to follow closely all directions. Also what helped me is to practice writing an essay untill I memorized it. Going to writing center and let them check an essay helped too to get a perfect score.
  2. I agree that nursing programs should be competitive as getting into MD programs. This way they select best people to provide critical care for ill patients. In this job, you can't afford making mistakes because you can ruin people's lives. I don't think that more expensive program means that you're getting a better education. The difference is that community college and public university gets State funding while private colleges don't and have to charge its students higher tuition.
  3. Hi Sara, Do you have any people that commute from Salem in your program?
  4. I'm going to go with Chemeketa. It was my first choice. What did you decide?
  5. Congratulations to everyone who got into the program!!! Good luck to all alternates. Don't lose hope.
  6. Congratulations IHAVEAHOPE!!! I got acceptance letter too :) What an awesome day.
  7. Did anybody received letters today?
  8. Thank you for your advice :)
  9. I wanted to see if there are any OHSU students out there that commute to main campus from Salem? I wanted to find out where do you park (my understanding it's not possible to park near campus) and if you could share other options available such as park&ride bus or Tram nearby or any others? How do you manage to keep cost low and save time? Thanks for sharing.
  10. I was really surprised to get phonecall from OHSU, they offered me a spot in ABSN program this Fall. Now, I'll wait for Chemeketa letter and then make a decision.
  11. Congratulations to you both!!! I got the same phonecall yesterday. I got into ABSN Fall 2011.
  12. No, I got on alternate list for Accelerated BSN but classes start summer and I stil didn't get in so it's very unlikely that I would be offered a spot in that program.
  13. Finally we'll know soon, thanks for finding it out.
  14. I don't blame you, it's hard to wait for so long for letter. So many colleges already sent acceptance letters already.
  15. I called Nursing office today and they said letters will go out in June, wouldn't tell me specific date.
  16. I read last year posts and it looks like people received acceptance letters on May 31st. So probably it should be around same time this year.
  17. I don't think all alternates would apply from last year but probably a good number would. I heard from former nursing student that's how she got into Chemeketa. It seems like mission impossible to get into from the first try
  18. This year they use essay as an actual part of total score.
  19. If anybody gets a letter or finds out when it'll be mailed out for sure. Please share. Hopefully it won't come to drawing from the hat but they'll select based on scores.
  20. I would choose Chemeketa over OHSU. I'm on wait list for OHSU Accel, didn't get accepted there.
  21. I was excited too finally get my essay score. I've got 50 pts,my overall is 360 and I'm in-district student. Congrats to everyone!! How long do we wait untill get actual letters?
  22. Thank you:) I'm hoping to get into Chemeketa though because of affordable cost. I guess all we can do is just wait and hope for the best. Good luck to you! Hopefully we'll be classmates.
  23. I also had my essay last week for Chemeketa, now waiting to find out score. I got waitlisted for OHSU Accel BSN.
  24. One of my friends graduated with ADN and got job within few month.
  25. Wow, they even have Writing instructors looking them over, they're probably going to nitpick everything. I understood that we have to find out by May 13 through our Chemeketa e-mail. I wonder if they'll just give us essay score or by that time they'll score everything giving us total points. After, it'll probably by end of June that we find out if we made into the program.
