  1. Don't cram the night before. Everyone I know who did Kaplan passed. I guess just try and apply their strategies. I only bought the Kaplan book and sadly I failed, but I'm a bad test taker. I also know plenty of people who did all 265 questions and still passed. Make sure you take breaks. Bring a snack or two and just do practice questions. Goodluck
  2. Hello all, SO, I took my test Oct 5, 2012 and within an hour I tried the Pearson Trick and it directed me to the Credit Card info page, which means I didn't pass. I PAID the $7.95 for quick results through Pearson, which was made available Sunday morning, just to be sure and as much as it pains me to say, the TRICK IS TRUE. I couldn't find many people who failed who would admit this online, but for all of you who get directed to the credit card page, A. Don't put your info in, b/c you will lose that money and B. It is okay, just take it again...sadly we have to wait 45 days. I took 5 hours and 265 questions. I'm a bad test taker, but was so prepared, I thought. I knew the info, but just not how to answer in a way the NCLEX test liked...straight A's through a hellish, yet prestigious 15 month program and I failed. It doesn't mean I won't be a good nurse...nor does it mean that for any of you who didn't pass. Good luck and a big congrats to all of you who did pass! Cheers
  3. So, I got my financial aid package and they expect me to pay the majority with private loans. Has anyone heard of any preferred banks? I know OHSU does not have a preferred lender list...but just thought I'd ask around. Thanks for any info anyone has. L:uhoh3:

  5. Please keep me posted on loan repayment-I'm so curious! Thanks, Lola
  6. Hey there...first off CONGRATS!!!! THE SAME THING happened to me for the PMHNP program,,, so OHSu should send us financial aid at the end of this month...but I too am freaking out about how to pay and talked to some current students (AccBac to Masters) and they said Wells Fargo (however it's variable interest), direct loan, private loans...I think we will have a lot more information once we get our packages and I heard OHSu financial aid office is quite helpful. I'll pass along more info if I find out and please do the same Also, there's a facebook page for AccBac students "OHSU Accbacc starting 2011" congrats again! best, L
  7. Okay all of this immunization stuff for OHSu is officially too much! Am I missing something. The blood titer per disease is like $75....I am planning on just putting in dates for my immunizations, but my pediatrician does not have the best documentation of things so I won't be scanning much in for proof...what about everyone else? Am I the only on totally overwhelmed by the prospect of completing this form? I spoke with a nurse at student health services at OHSU and she could not lend much help... So...am I missing something that should make this process easier or is it really just a huge pain? Thanks and sorry for whining!
  8. Thank you so much for all of the advice!!!
  9. Immunity tracking???? help!!! Am I completely missing something...do the rest of you just have all of your immunization records on hand from your old schools, old docs etc or does everyone go get a blood draw and get that form filled out...I am so overwhelmed by all of the stuff we have to have done .... any advice? i'm going to get my prints at a police station, and notary at my bank and drug test at the location they gave me...but the immunization records are killing me... sorry to sound like a spazz:confused:
  10. Cost of AccBAc at OHSU:dancgrp: YIKES: To calculate an approximate cost our ABS program is simple. For Oregon residents, the Accelerated Bachelor's program is currently running at $418.00 per credit. This program is a total of 72 credits (see program of study on our website); therefore 72 * 407 = $29,304.00. Please note that there are student fees in addition to the per credit rate that are included every quarter; this program is over the course of 5 quarters. Currently these fees are roughly $1,762.92, making the approximate cost of the program for the 2010-2011 academic year $38,118.60. To calculate the approximate cost for non-residents, simply multiple 72 credits by $547.00 and include the student fees cost. The approximate total of this portion of the program is $48,198.60.

  12. Funny-I called them today too and they told me the same thing which I agree is both terrifying and frustrating. Can you find a straight answer on cost overall? I don't think scholarships are awarded until mid May. I'll keep you posted. Cheers
  13. Hello, I was accepted to the AccBac BSN to PMHNP and know that the cost is $407/credit, but have heard different rumors of the cost. Does anybody know how much this is going to cost for those of us getting instate tuition? I've heard the BSN program is around $30,000, but then heard the PMHNP program is $50,000/year. Does anyone have any advice, info, resource etc as I am starting to freak out about the real cost of this program...Has anyone received a financial aid award break down of how they might pay? Linfield mailed me a break down in my acceptance letter, but OHSU has not sent me anything. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
  14. SaraBear-thank you for all of the info. I was just accepted into OHSU AccBac-Masters PMHNP, and also Linfield. Linfield offered me $$$, but it would jeopardize my chances with the PMHNP program.I've been so curious /nervous/excited about OHSU, but have had no idea what to expect....or how to pay for it...I still have not received my financial aid award letter...are there any other scholarships you can suggest looking into? Is it true we get a FREE marchwellness membership? Thank you for all of the info. I feel like I'm flying blind here, but your post has been very helpful. Since I'm a couple months away from my start date, is there anything you can recommend I do to prepare? Thanks again, Lola
  15. Hi Tanya, So will you be at the orientation on June 10? I think it is for All AccBac students and not specifically PMHNP students, though I am hoping we have one for PMHNP before we start June 20. I am so excited! I wonder how many other OHSU PMHNP students for June start are on this forum and if there is a facebook page for us...do you know? Congrats again! I think only 8 people were accepted!
