RN1218

Hi All! I just got hired as a New Grad RN and I filled out the Background Chexk Authorization today. I don't have any concerns regarding my background it's pretty much clean-my concern is will they contact my present employer. In addition to me applying for New Grad RN positions I was also applying for Admin positions so that I can make some income while I was still searching for my dream job. Now here's my problem, I was hired at my present job just over 2 weeks ago and bam I got the call that I got hired at this hospital yesterday-so I'm worried that they will call my employer now and disclose that I was hired somewhere else and I haven't even given any notice I am leaving. Will they call my employer? And what can I say to quit my job without leaving on bad terms?

I heard about Long Beach Memorial and their affiliated hospitals from a friend of mine that works there, but also on the Facebook group page New Grad RNs. I'm interested in Little Company of Mary in Torrance. I heard from the nurse recruiter in charge of the New Grad applicants that they will be having one in September 2011. They should be posting up in July but he did say for me to call back to get a specific date. Goodluck everyone!

Just wanted to know if there are any upcoming New Grad Applications for the Fall. I know Long Beach Memoria and the Memorial Care affiliated hospitals are going to be posting their applications June 27th. Anything else?

I know I should still have hope--but I'm now just waiting for that rejection email. It's frustrating that they already know who they want yet still have those who they know they don't want to give an offer to go through this agony

Liver ICU...

So I heard that the UD is going to be making her decisions starting today to Friday. We're suppose to hear anytime this week, but I know it won't be today because I read on some posts that she's interviewing tomorrow. So let's just keep our fingers crossed.

o wow! so for sure May 16th she'll let us know her decision? But she's interviewing ppl on May 17th too.

I know she came back from vacation today. I emailed her Monday, so hopefully I get some kind of response this week, but I've been reading on the thread that she's interviewing a few more new grads so maybe we all won't hear from her until next week? Has anyone contacted her today?

does this mean that they couldn't find ppl in the first batch? I guess I'm out of the running but Goodluck to those interviewing!

I couldn't take it anymore and emailed the Liver ICU UD. She's out of the office from May 2-10th and will be back May 11th. I spoke with the nurse recruiter and she said no decisions have been made yet. So keep our fingers crossed for those waiting :)

I've called the human resources director twice--got her voicemail. I left a message but I'm sure I will not get a call back. I just wish we can get an email letting us know any information.

Has anyone heard from Liver ICU yet? I know she said somewhere around the second week of May but just curious of she's contacted anyone?

Nothing yet and there's no status update

I applied for all 4 new grad postings all within hours to 24 hours of their posting and still no response. I try to call them and get some sort of answer-nothing. They keep forwarding me to the nurse recruiter that probably knows a new grad is calling for why they haven't recieved any word. It's frustrating that they post the new grad applications yet don't give any kind of feedback not even a rejection email for courteosy purposes.

new grad programs are designed for ppl with very little or no experience at all-as new grads the only experience we have is our clinical rotations and you must have your RN License prior to the start of the program but can apply without.

I have the same question-will there be an adult health program? I too have been calling and no answer

Just had my interview today-let's just say I thought I did really well until the critical thinking question. Wow. Completely blanked out-wouldn't be surprised if I didnt get a call back lol I did the best that I can today even with a fever and excessive nausea

I recieved a call from them Wednesday afternoon to come in for the panel interview on Monday. A good friend of mine is in the March 2011 cohort and she told me that they will be asking 3 clinical experiences questions and 1 critical thinking question. I am more worried about the critical thinking. Can anyone give insight on what the critical question would be like? For some reason I'm thinking NCLEX questions, symptoms, interventions, and evaluation.

hey bonniem, I'm sorry but the application deadline is over but there are other new grad programs with their applications up still- look at St. Vincents, St. Jude's, Methodist Arcadia, White Memorial, Whittier Presbyterian, and USC Hospital posts their applcation on May 1st. I post whatever new grad program I find open on the 2011 New Grad Applicatiob thread. Hope this helps :)

I know it's simple clinical experiences-like tell me a time when you had a conflict with such and such and what did u do. The critical thinking is the scenario and you have to say what interventions you would do.

omgeee!!! really?! I hope we get an offer-so nervous. Does anyone know if we get rejection emails or letters?

My good friend is in the March 2011 cohort now. She told me that they won't ask you what unit you want to work for until the second interview. Also, the interview is 3 clinical experiences and 1 critical thinking.
