  1. I am a PCNA in the float pool at CC main campus, and there were mostly ADN nurses in my orientation in October 2013. A majority went to Tri-C. I have also met a lot of Tri-C grads all over main campus.
  2. It depends. Typically if I'm working the floor I have 12-24 patients (Q4 vitals, call lights, 6am weights, blood sugars, I&O'S, hourly rounding and charting) So if I'm lucky I get an hour or two total (not including my half hour lunch, and adding all of the times I get to sit down together.) There would probably be less down time If I were permanently on a specific unit, since stocking and cleaning is always needed. However, since I am in the float pool I end up sitting about 75%+ of the time. In that case I have a ton of down time, usually almost the whole shift.
  3. Patient Care Nursing Assistant Located in Cleveland, Ohio $11.70 hourly $1 extra for 2nd and 3rd shift I work nights - either 7p-730a or 11p-730a I am in the float pool at a major hospital and can be sent to any of 32 units. 1.5 years experience Full-time Currently transfering nursing programs (Moved to Ohio from PA after my 1st semester of nursing classes)
  4. Just got a job at a hospital in north east Ohio. They are starting me at 11.70/hr with $1.00 shift differential for working nights. I have 1 year of previous experience working in a hospital.
  5. Allegheny night students ... we finally have access to our classes on Blackboard! Now if we only had our textbooks. :)
  6. Does anyone who went to the Allegheny campus orientation today happen to have the link to the nursing videos we need to watch? Thanks!
  7. I am in the evening program and also only had the option to pick a clinical day. I am taking the optional drug calculation course too. So I'll be in class Monday 5:30-9:30, Wednesday Clinical 3-11, and Thursday 3-1030!
  8. Did anyone else get a uniform price list in their packet? I read that it was supposed to be enclosed, but all I received was an important date overview and a packet with all of the forms that we need.
  9. To answer an earlier question ... I have a 4.0 with A&P 1 and 2 complete (which would give me a 5.75 out of 6.25 based on CCAC's points program). I'm currently taking Micro and Algebra 108. I got accepted into the Allegheny evening program, and only have English 102 left to complete after this semester. I turned in my application on the last day, so that doesn't have anything to do with acceptance. I hope that anyone who got a denial letter either appeals or applies for fall! Good luck to you all.
  10. Yep, thank you!
  11. Got my letter today!! For Allegheny evening program. Good luck everyone, hope to see you soon!
  12. I also applied and cannot wait for a response! I have finished A&P1 and A&P2, and have a 4.0 GPA My first choice is Allegheny campus (nights) I currently work as a CNA on a stepdown unit but would like to work in the OR! Good luck to all of you!
