  1. @scienceismyhobby88 Hey there! First of all Congratulation for making your mind that you wish to be a nurse! Whooohooo! No really?! Are you sure:)!!! Anyways I had something similar type of scenario when I decided to be a nurse. Back then I was a single parent and was working as a waitress to support myself and my lovely son. Things were so screwed up I don't even wish to remember that. Anyways make real long story short, I took two jobs, moved in to my mom's basement, and started taking part time classes. I had the same problem with financial aid and loans. So I decided to look up scholarships for moms and whatever that would pay for anything. After applying close to may be over 200 scholarships I did get one scholarships. Then after one year of college, I found a job in a mental hospital as Human service assistant. Thank GOD! Then after 2 years being a full time long term employee, My employer gave me full tuition fees for Nursing degree If I signed a contract and stayed with them for next 5 years. So I would say GET READY to WORK HARD. Each day apply at least one scholarships, get a job if possible in healthcare field. There are some good scholarships listed here, Nurse scholarships - State nurse scholarships | Nursing scholarships, male nursing grants,Nursing Scholarships, Nursing grants,Male Nursing Scholarships Hope it Helps. BEST OF LUCK!
  2. Whatz up all the hard woking RNs out there?! Ok i think this is very old thread but i'd like to share my 2 cents. Smoking is bad, both physically and financially, we all know it. Once I was a very heavy smoker and I stopped because my newer employer back then came up with "no smoking on the hospital ground" policy. First I hated it but now today I wholeheartedly thank them. I know it;s extremely hard to stop but you gotta find ways to stop it. It's just not worth it. You save so much money too. Nicotine is very very addictive. It stays in your system for about 5 days after the last smoke and it can stay in your hair for like 4 months or so. Read this. How long does nicotine stay in your system – Drug Details Good Luck!
  3. About four years ago, i used this site and won $2300 scholarship and my brother who is also an RN received $10,000 scholarship. 8. Hey People! I think Online education is as good as traditional. When I graduated in 1996, I was not aware of online classes. Many of my friends have taken online classes and all they say that it;s super convenient, it;s not easy but easily manageable. Best of Luck.
