  7. Hello, I have been an LPN for 17 years and I will complete my Bachelors degree Health care Administration in March 2013. I want to know if there are any other LPN's out there who have taken this route or a similar route and what was your experience.   11. Hello, those are 2 seperate exams. you are allowed to take health/safety and transitions before enrolling to excelsior. u would need to be enrolled in excelsior before taking heath differences. I think that CD that you have must have been a bundle type where you get 2 test for the price of 1 or something like that. Linda

    hello d'cm i agree i have had some patients come in who were train wrecks and often why they were released from the hospital now i am putting the big picture of interqual together.....you are right can the patient be treated at a lower level of care. i guess i will continue to practice and work with interqual and then i will really catch on....do you know where i can purchase an interqual book? linda

  21. tasha, sorry about your test, but dont give up you have come to far to stop now!!! hang in their I hear the third time is a charm :) you can do this!!! I can relate. I failed NC1 in aug 06 failed again in feb 07 again for the 3rd time in june 11.....needless to say i havent picked up any books to study lately....still need all nursing courses. one day i will get to where you are....you are almost there so keep stirving take care Linda
  22. georgia licensing requirements for excelsior college associate degree graduates based on sb 100 (am 33 1137) april 2011 in april 2011, the georgia legislature approved amendments to the georgia nurse practice act that revise the requirements for rn licensure that affect associate degree in nursing graduates of excelsior college. the governor signed these changes into law on may 13, 2011. the following chart is intended to provide information on how to interpret these changes. please note, however, that although signed into law, the board of nursing (bon) must develop procedures to implement these requirements. for lpns who apply for licensure by examination if you were an lpn upon enrollment and * you have at least two years experience in the past five years* in an acute care in-patient facility or a long-term acute care facility and * your academic education as an lpn included clinical training in o pediatrics, o obstetrics and gynecology, o medical-surgical, and o mental illness * you will be eligible to apply for licensure by examination in georgia provided you meet all other licensing requirements (i.e., background check, etc.) ========================================================= if you were an lpn upon enrollment and * you have at least two years experience in the past five years in any setting (except night duty in a skilled nursing facility) but * you have less than two years experience in the past five years in an acute care in-patient facility or a long-term acute care facility and * your academic education as an lpn included clinical training in o pediatrics, o obstetrics and gynecology, o medical-surgical, and o mental illness * you will be required to complete a 320-hour post-graduation precepted experience in an acute care in-patient facility or a long-term acute care facility* that: o you arrange, o is under the oversight of an rn   23. nursecubanitarn2b i dont think its excelsior...when i was talking to my advisor about having more preceptor sites he said they were trying, but alot of people did not want to give them the sites. i think it may be the same way setting up additional clinicals linda
  24. If I take courses at Straghterline for a&p will they transfer toward my BSN
  25. savagetrojan hello, i was trying to get approval for the classes, but no one wanted to approve or tell me anything because i havent paid the enroll ment fee. i wanted to take as much as a could before i enrolled. how does the courses work with straighterline? i will check them out. do you need to take a lab with courses? linda
